I am delighted to report that the economic outlook is much better in one particular area: The "Fake 'Gaffe' Manufacturing Index", or the FMGI.
The oft-overlooked FGMI covers the 'news and opinion' segment of the economy, and measures the number of false, misleading, or trumped-up 'gaffes' that any given Republican is noted to have made.
The most recent ginned-up 'gaffe' is sourced from Mitt Romney's debate quote, where he speaks of using "whole binders full of women" to help in locating prospects for positions in his years as Massachusettes Governor, was immediately mined and harvested by many in the Pravda Press, including this piece by CNN. The ommisson of the word 'resumes' in that line was sufficient to allow this 'gaffe' to be manufactured wholesale.
Of course, this is not the only contribution to the FGMI index: There were many additional tons of newsprint and billions of internet packets dedicated to such fake 'gaffes' as:
- Romney allegedly insulting the British on Olympic security concerns,
- Romney allegedly insulting nearly half the American population by correctly observing that 47 percent of the population is dependent on government, and thusly has a motivation to vote for Big Government Obama.
- When speaking about firing the current Administration, the Fake 'Gaffe' Manufacturing sector was able to twist this into the concept that Romney likes firing all people.
Fake 'Gaffe' Manufacturing experts are unanimous in expecting that the FGMI numbers will continue to rise for the foreseeable future. The experts cite a highly partisan press and media culture in America, overwhelmingly dominated by liberals and those who favor Democrats. The trend is likely to continue until November 7th, at which time it is expected that the FMGI index will dive abruptly.
Please stay aware of this important manufacturing index in the months ahead, with the knowledge that as the FGMI numbers rise, that the prospects of Mr. Romney defeating President Obama mirror that rise.

I think your newly minted economic indicator should go to the Drudge Report. FMGI has a snappy ring to it.

LOL! I would love it if this got in the Drudge Report!! :)

America is ready to return to a dumb, stumbling, bumbling President. Its been tough watching all those hapless commie mediots with nothing to write about. In just that one way, alone, an R&R victory will stimulate the economy!

This is merely a skirmish in Romney’s War on Women. He has exposed the fallacy of them being equal to men by exposing how fragile they really are. If this comment could be so hurtful then.....well you just hurt to easy.

The trick is to be economical with words but not with the truth. I aspire to both but truth compels me to admit that one of the two has eluded me.

pssst... January 2007.

Ok,, I should have said the Democrats won the election in 2006 and took office in 2007..
But, I wanted to push the time back as far as I can to blame it on the Democrats.

Second-hand gaffe has been proven to be cancerous. Because of that, gaffeing is no longer permitted in indoor work environments, or within 50 feet of any building entrance.

I saw something a few days ago about a rebound in consumer confidence. Oddly enough, it came at just the same time Romney started breaking ahead in the national polls. Coincidence?
