Raleigh, N.C. Historically high turnout by black voters helped President Barack Obama win North Carolina in 2008 by 14,000 votes, which was his narrowest margin of victory nationwide.
Polls show Obama's support among black voters this year is weaker, which only heightens North Carolina's status as a swing state in next month's presidential election.
A WRAL News poll from October 2008 showed 92 percent of black voters in North Carolina supported Obama, while only 3 percent backed Republican nominee John McCain. In a WRAL News poll released two weeks ago, Obama's support among black voters has fallen to 87 percent, with 12 percent saying they plan to back Republican Mitt Romney.
Those results are moving in the opposite direction from overall Democratic support for Obama, which is higher this year.
David McLennan, a political science professor at William Peace University in Raleigh, said the weaker support among blacks in North Carolina is probably due in part to the economy.

I hope but I’ll believe when it happens.
The One needs a very high black voter turnout in NC and VA and he isn’t going to get that this year.
The novelty of the first “black president” doesn’t hold the interest it did four years ago.
North Carolina is NOT a SWING State. 2008 was an abberation and Obama just barely won tehn. Romney will win NC easily. In fact, don’t be surprised if Obama pulls all his ads out of there fairly soon.
“Polls show Obama’s support among black voters this year is weaker”
If this is true, they’re not going to vote for a Republican or independent. They’re either doubling down on the hate for Romney, ratcheting up the hosannas for Hussein, or staying home on 11/6.
His claim to want to “help” people by “giving everyone an equal chance” is horse sh*t. It’s a cover, a reason to redistribute money we earned.
He care not about minorities or the poor.
His personal mission is to punish white, Christian American. Every policy and everything he has done up until now has been accomplish that. And he’s done a damn fine job of it!
Black voters will still vote for Obama at about a 90-95% range (after all, that’s what their White Democrat Slavemasters want them to do). However, whereas in 2008 blacks would crawl over broken glass to support Bath House Barry, now a lot of them will decide to stay home.
Saw the NC news this morning about early voting and there were lots of black people in line. Hopefully a lot of them are smart enough to not vote for Obama again.
In 08 blacks were in a state of euphoria to be able to help get one of Holders people in to the White house.
This time around and knowing this assclown hasn’t done squat for them,
This time around the leg tingle is gone and many will simply stay home
Black voters are racist - and don’t let any one tell you different.
If white voters voted like that - it would be racist and the way blacks vote has nothing to do with the character and merits of the respective candidates.
Its about skin color, pure and simple.
... and the lower black turnout will be interpreted by the media as voter suppression.
Conservatives want him out and far lefties are disappointed in him, and the black community too. If voter fraud is minimized, he’s toast.
I was driving through the north end of kalamazoo mi late last week and that is a democrat STRONGHOLD. I did not see more than 1 or two Obama signs and the last election cycle, there was an obama sign in every yard. Same thing in Grand Rapids mi. You would think Steve Pestka was running for pres but I believe the dems are putting more money into his campaign go get justin amash out of office than they are trying to keep obama in. Very different motivations in the electorate this year. Not many Romney signs but they have been hard to come by in the first place.
They probably thought it was the line for a free Obamaphone.
Blacks won’t vote for Romney. What we need is for them to be so disillusioned with 0zero that they stay at home.
LOL
Not surprising. Obama has pulled out of NC Fla. Va. and Colorado.

WHAT in the world are they talking about??
“Its about skin color, pure and simple.”
This was apparent in 08 with zeros support from Colin Powell and Fox news reporters Kelly Wright and Wendell Gollar. They were overwhelmed with joy and their insinuations, IMO, support your claim.
I think this is becoming a universal generic headline:
...... support for Obama waning in ...... !
