Mitt Romney has faced harsh criticism during his campaign for a lack of policy specifics: Democrats have pointed to a lack of details in his tax plan and what he would put in place to replace the health care law, among other issues. Yet President Obama has done little to outline his priorities and promises for the next four years.
Democratic consultants Stanley Greenberg and James Carville of Democracy Corps released a memo earlier this week that said the president has offered only a "modest vision" of the future. They argued that voters want to hear a "bold case" for "bold policies."
Another Democratic strategist told CBS News that the Obama campaign "made a strategic choice" to avoid talking about the future and instead focus on tearing down his opponent Mitt Romney. The decision, the strategist said, was a response to the mood of the electorate, the status of the economy and likely a host of other factors.

His non answer to the Canadian pipeline question was classic....We have enough pipelines to go around the world....
Specificity of his plans for a dubious second-presidency are NONEXISTENT. They don't exist because Obama cannot explain anything cogent or factual of what he and his ilk have done for the past 4 years. To my mind, they've only succeeded in juggling numbers, putting untold billions into useless green enterprises, and have made some very-connected donators very, very rich. From the way Obama and the Democrats are picking apart Mitt Romney's plans, you'd think Mitt was the President for the last four years. They can't have their cake and eat it too. Obama can't stand up there and talk about his "presidency" in the third person as if he, as candidate, isn't connected to himself as an inept president. The only person who has that luxury of incoming candidate is Romney. Graft, greed, arrogance and neglect. That is Obama's tenure.
To me, he was a cornered rat on that stage. Fighting for his miserable political life.
This destroying of America he's tried to implement is going to fail because he doesn't understand what the Idea Of America is all about. He doesn't get the industriousness of the American people. He can't fathom the the absolute resolve of the American mindset. He can't logically work out the goodness of what America stands for!
Obama, whether you want it or not, YOU'RE FIRED! Take your sorry ass ilk with you!
When he loses his reasons are already in place. We didn’t have enough faith in the recovery. Bush’s mess that he inherited was bigger than he first thought. We were motivated by fear. Blah, blah, blah. Because he didn’t state specifically what he wants to do in the next 4 years he can’t say the votes were against his “plan”. My guess is he and Moochelle will wind up being bitter clingers themselves in Hawaii, where he can “community organize” the native Hawaiians. Probably will get them to secede so he can finally be King Obama. He is going be be an even bigger loudmouth ex-president than Clinton, if that is possible.
Housing starts up due to optimism for Romney/Ryan.
Unemployment starting to shift due to optimism for Romney/Ryan.
Consumer consumption up due to Obama leaving and Romney/Ryan in the wings.
Maybe folks are mustering HOPE that CHANGE is coming soon to get us back on track.
This election needs to be viewed as 'America's Second Revolution' with a return to our founding principles (not the dog-whistle slavery BS), shunning Marxism, cessation of redistribution of wealth, ridding ourselves of Shari'a banking principles, and purging the infiltration of the Muslim Brotherhood reaching the highest levels of the Federal gubmint.
"Growing the economy" from the middle out, as Zero said earlier, is not "being specific", nor is it a plan, nor has it worked (if that is what he's been trying to do for the past four years).
He was vague 4 years ago, too — in fact he has been so his entire political career. His sycophants were too stupid and star-struck to realize it.
Anyone who believes gas prices were lower in 2008 because the economy was beginning to go bad is delusional at worst and ignorant at best. His “plan” is to redistribute wealth, he just can’t tell anyone!
The socialist is confounded ... The only way he can win is to radically change to more conservative-like positions (e.g., free markets; lower taxes; less regulation) and that he cannot do (presuming he even knows how to do it).
