At first glance, it might seem as if Mitt Romneys path from voting in the 1992 Democratic presidential primary to being the 2012 Republican presidential nominee was linear. But over the past, winding, 20 years, Romney has held every possible view on every possible issue often at the same time. When it comes to policy, hes been downright promiscuous.
Jolted with a fresh shot of post-debate energy, Romney is just doing more of what hes always done whatever it takes to get elected. This comes naturally because he is, fundamentally, a cipher. The only thing he believes is whatever is politically expedient in that given moment. And right now, he needs to be a hard-liner to get the GOP base to the polls and a moderate to appeal to those last few independent voters.
His solution is to sign on to the fanatical policies of the extreme right, and then duck and cover to confuse independents about where he really stands.
Enough is enough. Romneys campaign has made for great Daily Show segments. But were three weeks away from determining the next leader of the United States. And at this point, Romney is just insulting Americans our intelligence, our values, our democracy with the campaign he is running. Tuesdays town hall debate is an opportunity for voters and President Obama to articulate the real consequences that Romneys real policies will have on real peoples lives. So lets hope that, at the debate, voters will finally demand that Romney get real.

Theyre all good friends now up there...
Whats your problem ???
I thought DOMA was DOA. Not even Clinton will defend it. And Bush or Romney certainly wouldn’t defend it.

After a long search ...no Torrie’s.

Oh thats too bad...
Poor you...
Im so sorry for your lack...
Like many American families, we had some Rebels as well as some Loyalists...
Just not direct for me...
Families were split just like the Civil War...
The brothers and cousins of my ancestors fought on the other side...
Depended on where they were and what was happening...
1/3 of the country were Rebels
1/3 were Loyalists and
1/3 couldnt careless and didnt get involved if the troubles werent happening in their back yard...
Oh and dont forget...
The Susquehanna River Valley was the frontier ...
Of course there were Indians there...
and people who just thought it was more of that same fight over land by those folks in CT who were trying to steal part of PA since 1770..
2/3 of the families in the “Up the River” area where my family was were identified as Loyalists and not harming anyone until they were attacked by the Rebels..
I’m bashful and guarded, but you can probably see that.... ;>)
Saw you yesterday, Katrina. Time is not on your side.
This election cycle we have two choices. From the Democrat party we have Obama, a Marxist communist and don’t try to tell me he isn’t, look at who he has associated with all his life. Obama hates this nation, he despises it’s people, it’s constitution, it’s laws, it’s history and wants it completely and totally destroyed. From the Republican party we have Romney, a Fabian socialist, look at his past actions and try to tell me different. Romney does not hate this nation nor does he want to destroy it. Obama wants that communist utopia right now although he will wait for maybe a year. Romney wants the same utopia but being a Fabian will do it very slowly. Do we elect Obama and experience riots, soviet style purges, insurrection, maybe outright civil war within the next two or three years or do we elect Romney and maybe gain enough time to set this nation back on a constitutional track?
I thought you said your family arrived here in 1730...
I misunderstood...
Yes mine fought in those early Indian wars also...
While yours were at the Civil War I had family on both sides but not direct ...
Instead my great grandfather was fighting in the Maori Wars in NZ...
and my grandfather his son fought in the Boar War in South Africa..
my mother lost 3 uncles in WWI and a brother in WWII...
My brother and I and some cousins served during Nam...
and one of my children served more recently...
no offense but this bitch is a waste of air.....
I guess the world has turned upside down when a far left ditz feels she can lecture the country about the evils of a semi-conservative Republican.
Bush defended it. Clinton never had the chance.
Bambi - not so much.
I was thinking such. Just had to be sure. ;-)
The pain you feel today is the strength you'll have tomorrow.
What action did Bus ever take to defend it?
I thought Mukasey started the defense of DOMA for one of the earliest lawsuits against it, but I could be mistaken.
Coakley didn’t bring suit against it until Bambi was in office.
To: FormerRep
perhaps be best if you did stay away from the polls. Good grief !!! You RomneyBots are that afraid of us Conservatives ??? Your boy Wee Willie is that desparate and insecure that he wants to deny me my Constitutional right to vote ??? WOW IF your boy Wee Willie Mitty ever got into the White House he would be a worse Communist dictator than Obama... at least Obama has not stopped me from voting... 53 posted on Monday, July 30, 2012 10:24:41 AMby Tennessee Nana(Why should I vote for Bishop Romney when he hates me because I am a Christian)
