Body Found In Colorado Is That Of Missing Girl Jessica Ridgeway, Authorities Confirm
Colorado authorities confirm that a set of human remains recently discovered are those of 10-year-old Jessica Ridgeway.
Police in Colorado confirmed Friday that a dismembered body they discovered earlier in the week in Arvada is that of 10-year-old schoolgirl Jessica Ridgeway, who went missing from her Westminster home a week ago.
"Our focus has changed from the search for Jessica to a mission of justice for Jessica," Westminster Police Chief Lee Birk said. "We realize there is a predator at large in our community."
Ridgeway began a short walk from her home to Witt Elementary School on the morning of Oct. 5 but never arrived. A massive search by hundreds of law enforcement officers was launched hours later because Jessica's mother works nights and slept through a call from school officials saying the fifth-grader wasn't there.
Ridgeway's case made national headlines in the days following her disappearance as hundreds of police officers, bloodhounds and scores of volunteers scoured the chidl's neighborhood looking for clues to her whereabouts. Her father, Jeremiah Bryant, who lives in Missouri, traveled to Colorado when he learned of his daughter's disappearance, police said.
“Our thoughts and prayers go out with them," Birk said, adding, "They’ve been in our hearts from the beginning."

Yep. I lived a block from those folks and my daughter went to that school. There isn't a straight road in there and you don't just happen to end up there.
I hadn’t heard that. It doesn’t really surprise me when you have a populace the size of ours, and as mobile as it is.
I do believe people are particularly vulnerable on the highway, and I think they should be carrying too. The sad reality is, you can’t really carry, because if you get caught doing so, they can use the one gun charge to confiscate all your weapons.
If I knew a good way to get around that, I would.
If you have car trouble on the highway, you’re just hung out to dry, at the mercy of any vile killer that comes along.
Some 2 legged animals deserve the hell they inherit as their eternal reward.

I don’t think that is the case, they’re saying “dismembered” they wouldn’t say that if they thought it was animals - they’d put it as you did “mutilated by animals”.
Please, Please tell me, promise me that you will not let your daughters walk anywhere without you or adult supervision, I don’t care if it is just 1 block. I don’t think I can stand one more statistic like this. Keep your daughters safe.
BTW...I never go in the woods, even in a park, without a weapon.
I grew up on a large farm, so I’m not uncomfortable when in the woods or in a large forest or national park. I don’t think you’re wrong to carry protection though. It’s our constitutionally framed right. I’d rather be just right, than dead right.
So you’re saying it was someone local who knew that lot was there because it’s not a place you would normally drive by or through.. I worked on a murder case once where identifying the car was key because he drove an uncommon vehicle.. Commons present a problem. Hopefully they have something on surveillance cameras during the time frame of her walking to school.
Once on the Interestate, hubby and grandson with me. A car came up behind me, followed, I speed up they speed up, I slow down they slowed down, they would not pass me. This went on for about 3 miles, then out of nowhere came a SUV beside me in the left lane, stayed steady at my speed and honked at me, the other car was almost on my bumper.
I was very scared, I drive a JAG, I kicked that car up to about 120 in no time, they tried to stay with me, but alas they had difficulty. I then got off the interstate and into a Service station to rest. Very scary. I love my car.
I think they were trying to cause a CRASH and sue me.
Grandpa and grandson had white knuckles, but they know you don't mess with Grandma and her family.
No no. The neighborhood they live in. All the streets curve and wind and it is easy to get turned around if you don't know the area.

My granddaughters live just 10 miles from Westminster. Public torture, flaying, and hacking the POS apart slowly is what should happen to this POS and the sooner the better.
