I watched with sheer amazement, as almost every single mistake Al Gore made with George W. Bush at a Presidential debate, Joe Biden repeated.
Oh, certainly, he did not have too much makeup on, nor did he attempt to stride up to Ryan menacingly (which would have earned him the same bemused look Bush gave Gore), but everything else? Check. Check. And check.
Biden was heard sighing and chuckling in the background. His voice dripped with contempt, even when describing his own plans and ideas. He overtalked so much that at one point, it seemed like Ryan should make like he was about to say something, then stop, just to bait Biden into preemptively interrupting:
Ryan: (makes motion like he is about to speak)I call this form of interruption-baiting 'balk-talk'. Biden's interruptions and overtalking were so rude, the moderator had to publicly chide Biden NOT to interrupt during the very sensitive discussion of the role of religion in their diametrically opposed positions regarding abortion. If I may digress momentarily about the abortion question, Joe Biden had to tacitly admit the Catholic position was pro-life, but in a squirming stretch, made the case that Jewish, Islamic, and other religions are not. His answer was befuddling to most, and most notably, seemed befuddling to Joe Biden.
Biden: (interrupting) "That's just bullcrap."
Ryan: (makes another motion like he is about to speak)
Biden: (interrupting) "What a liar."
Ryan: "I didn't say anything yet."
Biden: "Well, if you had, it would have been bullcrap and lies."
Biden was rude and condescending throughout the debate, and demonstrated flashes of anger consistently through the debate. We all know men who act like Joe Biden acted, but usually, they are holding a beer, in a trailer park, wearing a wife-beater t-shirt, and menacing their spouses with a threatened backhand.
I made an immediate prediction that Biden's performance was sure to hurt the Obama/AngryJoe ticket with Independents and especially with WOMEN, who all have dated an arrogant, angry jerk JUST LIKE JOE BIDEN, at least once in their lives.
CNN promptly confirmed this prediction on the air, on Wednesday night, with the little data they had at their disposal. I suspect we will see a lot more of polling data that will show that Biden's maniacal, rude, attack-poodle Al Gore imitation will inure to his ticket's detriment among the all-important woman vote.
Punksta Rap
I will say, I was amazed at the questions by the mod especially the first question on Lybia and the tough questions to Biden 1st.
I thought “Holeeeee! You have got to be kidding!??? She actually is going to acquit herself as a serious journalist???”
I think she did and gave Biden plenty of opportunity to hang his boss with any albatross of statements. He did not disappoint.
However, I thought at almost any point Ryan could have pointed out the inconstistencies in the Barrack positions but, it’s tough when you are ginned up to go after a street fighter who never really took to his expected tempo and even near the end, Biden became a bit more reserved in his schtick.
I weigh it 70%-30% in Ryan’s favor and I might be a little charitable.
Hell, debating ain’t all that fun except when you are trying to break up from a relationship you knew you should have never got into in the first place.
But, that’s just me....
Pffft!!!!
You are the Laz. No need.....
See now, that’s how you know Joe’s faking it.
Malarkey ain’t Irish...
LOL
It's the EoTech that makes me look good.
M.Thatcher, if you still have that connection; Mark L, if you still read here.... please bring this editorial to Rush's attention. He can articulate this so much better than I.
I hesitate about the “women won’t like....” — that’s the same argument used against Romney in debate 1
I actually think it’d been better off to drag Joe up around 15k feet and conduct the debate at that level. The higher attitude might help him.
With due respect for your comment, I think virtually all of Biden's displays of exasperation, amusement, and anger were feigned.
Excellent, as usual! After a 1/2 hour into it, I was so ticked off and was going to shut it off. I convinced myself it was important to watch and to stick it out.
After another 10 minutes, I screamed “That’s it”, shut off the tv and went to bed.
Joes lies were ticking me off enough....then all that weirdo laughing and smirking pushed me over.
Once the top of my left eye started “pulsing” I knew watching the rest would NOT be good for my health.
I saved a life last night by turning off the tv......MINE!!!! =)
I saw only about the first half-hour of the debate, but I have to agree that Joe Biden was rude, ugly, and obnoxious. It was predicted that he would take this dismissive line with Paul Ryan, and I was very pleased to see that Ryan was not flummoxed.
It would have been cute if he’d used your tactic, but it probably didn’t occur to him to practice it in advance.
Spot-on, and I like your tagline, too.
Gosh-you just described a “ typical” teenager...
;)

"...* RULE 5: Ridicule is mans most potent weapon. There is no defense. Its
irrational. Its infuriating. It also works as a key pressure point to force the
enemy into concessions. (Pretty crude, rude and mean, huh? They want to create anger
and fear.) ..."
I like that tagline because I don’t have to change it all the time.
It applies to so many situations.
Well, I’ve had me a couple of them there “Teenagers.”
50 years ago, I even was one.
me too- his arrogance is pubescent...
