“I’m not going to spend a long time making a speech,” President Obama explained last night during a fundraiser in San Francisco last night, signalling that he would answer questions instead. “Most of you have been great friends for many years. Many of you supported me when I was running for the United States Senate, much less running for President. And so I think you know who I am and you know what I care about.”
Instead, Obama began reminiscing about growing up in Hawaii, after he was introduced by a childhood friend, Pam Hamamoto.
“It’s true that actually the environment that we grew up in, I think for both of us, still provides us a certain ballast,” he said. “Sometimes people wonder why it is that I seem pretty even-keeled. And I’d like to think that part of it is that’s how I’m hardwired, but part of it is when you spent your formative years in Hawaii, you think to yourself, it can’t be that bad.”
Obama added,”And if it is, then you go to Sandy Beach and you bodysurf and you feel fine afterwards. It washes away all worries.”

My take - he is going fullbore Nixon. When things got the roughest for Nixon he would inexplicably lapse into monologues about growing up in Whittier California, his mother who was a “saint”, trying out of the football team etc. etc. My guess is that affirmative action boy is going down and he’s starting to reminisce about his childhood, his previous political campaigns (another Nixon trait).

There is justice and balance in this world. Obama is no Stalin or Hitler or even LBJ. Their will was 100x stonger than his. He is burned out, bored now with being POTUS just as we're burned out with him. The next four years in Hawaii will be much more fun for him than being in the White House, so he's just going through the motions.
I think Obama virtually threw the first debate. If he had once mentioned Bain Capital, the 47%, or Mitt's wealth putting him out of touch with the common man, then the media would have had a field day repeating these items over and over even while they were conceeding that Mitt won. By staying silent Obama destroyed $150 million in attack ads on Mitt.
And Obama has picked his Second to administer the “coup de grace” Bill Clinton. Obama has to know that Bill cannot allow him another term if Hillary is to have her last chance for POTUS in 2016, so Bill is there putting a nice narrative on things as Obama slowly goes down. If Obama shows any signs of coming back, Bill will quietly scuttle them while he talks of the tragedy of the second Black POTUS brought down by Republican racism—a perfect lead-in to Hillary's 2016 campaign.

I think I mostly agree with you - except (there’s always an except isn’t there?).
I think Hillary! is just as burnt out as Obamugabe - perhaps even more so. My personal feeling is that she’s entering a fairly advanced stage of alcoholism. I don’t have hard evidence of it but it fits with her appearance, her behavior, her relative absence from the stage etc. Again, I don’t have any definitive knowledge, just a gut feel. I think Hillary! is basically done.
