Why Obama Will Lose All Three Debates
AmericanThinker.com ^ | 10/8/2012 | Monty Pelerin

President Obama had a terrible debate last week. Supporters and opponents were shocked that he could be so off his game. They shouldn't have been. That they were indicates that they don't understand Obama's serious, likely insurmountable re-election problem.

Obama supporters and detractors expect the old Obama to show better form in the next debate. But that is not going to happen! It cannot, because Obama's critical problem is not correctable.

Obama's Real Problem

The media seemed more surprised by Obama's performance than Romney's. It was Romney who was the surprise and exposed Obama's Achilles heel. Daniel Henninger observed (my emphasis added):

... no one expected or predicted that Barack Obama could be so pushed off his game or look so flustered in a contest of articulating ideas.
Obama's problem, to put it politely, is his looseness with facts. He is the quintessential "sound-bite" president. Truth for him is whatever he chooses it to be, whatever is necessary to turn things in his favor. His self-aggrandizement and arrogance, coupled with a hero-worshiping media, has enabled him to such an extent that it is possible that he no longer believes there is truth other than what he wants it to be. That is his problem, and it has been reinforced for most of his life.

Obama created his own fantasy bubble. He began by inventing history in two so-called autobiographies. Challenging anything in his self-created Alice in Wonderland world brought automatic charges of racism and other attacks from his defenders. After years of living in his bubble, one wonders whether Mr. Obama even knows objectivity or truth. This psychopathology was reinforced by admirers to the extent that Obama has made it a key tool in his political arsenal.

The REAL problem is that obama is a not-very-bright puppet. His puppet-masters put his speeches on his teleprompter.

Without his teleprompter, obama is toast!!!!

I totally agree. Expect a reappearance of someone like the “Ponytail” guy from back in 92. Questions will be heavily slanted and Obama will have his scripted responses well memorized.

I don’t want to sound like stormfront, but the same people who think that everything America accomplished was built on the backs of suffering black people, will think the white candidate stole the debate from the “suffering” black Obama.

IMO whatever the Kenyan is smoking these days, has him feeling no pain...

Obama's appeal was in his ambiguity.

Thats gone now.

I have no doubt the ‘questions selected from the audience’ will have a certain slant.

But...Obama has a very serious problem: his record. This debate is foreign policy...and for some strange reason, the democrats see this as a strong suit. Its not.

I’m sure the storis have already been written, describing how Obama ‘came back’, and Romney will have to excel, for it to be called even a draw. But again, Obama has the little problem of his record.

Obama's problem, to put it politely, is his looseness with facts. He is the quintessential "sound-bite" president. Truth for him is whatever he chooses it to be, ...

To that correct characterization I would add that he has at least two other related problems: He really doesn't know the key facts on many issues and won't learn them and, as Reagan would have pointed out, he knows so much that isn't true.

Paraphrasing Krauthammer, Obama wasn’t off his game—that is his game.

Obama has been attacking strawmen for the last 4 years.

What he considers Romney's plan bears 0% relationship w/ Romney's actual plan.

When confronted by the real man and the real plan he has no response because he has no idea what it is.

This guy is a joke. Finally someone is actually confronting this pretentious booby.

There is a new drug out called Nuvigil. It is given to MS patients to help overcome the extreme tiredness that afflicts many of them during the day causing confusion, slow thinking, and the appearance of laziness. I guarantee you you will see Obama on Nuvigil next debate. It makes your mind run faster, you're more alert, you're more alive, it helps you speak faster and more precisely.

There was an older form of the drug which college kids have been using for years to take exams and stay awake. It's like No-Doz on steroids.

I guarantee you his handlers are aware of it and that he will be drugged on it for the next debate. You watch. He'll be sharper, more awake, no uh's and duh's. You'll see a totally different drugged Barry on Nuvigil!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Obama simply cannot defend a vapid, failed policy when confronted with an aggressive attack. There is no teleprompter, no accommodating press and no sycophants crowding at his side. Just him and his opponent who represents the judgement of history. The moderator cannot save him. The big question is not that Romney will win the debates but if it will matter. A democracy ultimately reflects the values of a culture it represents. If the decadent, demented and dependent outnumber the productive and virtuous, these debates will only matter to historians debating the decline of a once great nation.

This is the Michael Jackson presidency, and the White House has become the political freak shw equivalent of Neverland.

BO cannot think on his feet and his utter abject ignorance of economics was exposed. No fast fix for that. I doubt if he has the intelligence to even grasp anything other than communist/collectivist/redistribution ideology.

Do you actually believe that Obama did not have the questions ahead of time for the first one?

I wonder if any shopkeepers will be invited to the townhall debate? Any gas station owners? Any coal workers? Anyone who reads books?

Liberalism has always been a house of cards. Having been put into practice by the Obama administration, the failures inherent in liberalism are now there for all to see.

Not only was Obama exposed in the first debate, so was liberalism and the liberal media.

They’re all going down. For a while.
