President Obama had a terrible debate last week. Supporters and opponents were shocked that he could be so off his game. They shouldn't have been. That they were indicates that they don't understand Obama's serious, likely insurmountable re-election problem.
Obama supporters and detractors expect the old Obama to show better form in the next debate. But that is not going to happen! It cannot, because Obama's critical problem is not correctable.
Obama's Real Problem
The media seemed more surprised by Obama's performance than Romney's. It was Romney who was the surprise and exposed Obama's Achilles heel. Daniel Henninger observed (my emphasis added):
... no one expected or predicted that Barack Obama could be so pushed off his game or look so flustered in a contest of articulating ideas.Obama's problem, to put it politely, is his looseness with facts. He is the quintessential "sound-bite" president. Truth for him is whatever he chooses it to be, whatever is necessary to turn things in his favor. His self-aggrandizement and arrogance, coupled with a hero-worshiping media, has enabled him to such an extent that it is possible that he no longer believes there is truth other than what he wants it to be. That is his problem, and it has been reinforced for most of his life.
Obama created his own fantasy bubble. He began by inventing history in two so-called autobiographies. Challenging anything in his self-created Alice in Wonderland world brought automatic charges of racism and other attacks from his defenders. After years of living in his bubble, one wonders whether Mr. Obama even knows objectivity or truth. This psychopathology was reinforced by admirers to the extent that Obama has made it a key tool in his political arsenal.

There'll still be the problem of content.
Will anyone other than brain-dead, dependent, pin-headed, misshapen-headed, LIB syncophants be invited? Will the combined IQ of the audience be above room temperature?
Neverland? Huh,if only! Try Jonestown.
......anyone without an Obama phone?
He hasn't had to debate anything in years. The Media slavishly adores him and never forces him to defend his record. Others in his administration make the decisions for him.
When you have been a pampered pet for several years, you might find it difficult when called upon to become a pitbull and face off against another big dog.
Ding Ding Ding!
We have a winner.
0bama is not intelligent. Without someone else writing words for him, he cannot fake it.
“The big question is not that Romney will win the debates but if it will matter.”
I’m as disillusioned as you are with the ignorance of the voters we see interviewed on the street, but Gallup has Romney up 5; so maybe all is not yet lost.
Anyone ever listen to Beck’s Friday football trivia contest on his radio show with 7-11 workers ? Can’t name one of the planets, normal body temperature, or what comes after “I Pledge Allegiance to the Flag of the ...........
What did they have to disagree on?
OTOH, I saw Obama beat Alan Keyes in the Illinois senatorial debate. But Obama won with his hopey-changey platitudes. It's obvious now that when he has to address facts, he collapses.
After 8 years of Bush and the haranguing of the never ending cacophony of anti-Bush screeching people were eager to give Obama the benefit of the doubt, despite his vast inexperience.
But remember when Obama went to speak at Saddleback Church with Pastor Rick Warren? Obama performed miserably. Lots of stammering, imprecise answers, things were above his pay-grade. It was a disaster.
So Obama is Obama. He no longer has the luxury of filling in the blank public palette. He now has to defend who he is, what he believes, and the record he built based upon who Obama is.
Obama is toast.
If you recall, Hitler was kept going by large injections of vitamins and other drugs concocted by his personal physician. He was on them to the end.
[ remember the next debate is in NY (I think) and Gallop (I believe) will PICK the undecided voters to ask question.....as the whole debate will be questions from people.....I smell a set up here................. ]
The next debate will be fixed to favor Obama, and he will do much better. The media will be stocked, however, at how well Romney will do—even with hostile questions designed to make him look bad. The questions to Romney will be written by the Obama campaign and delivered by so-called undecided others to provide the Obama media cover. The media will fawn that their Messiah has risen again, but I expect that Romney will again win with the voters at home.
“Pony-tail guy” was a missed opportunity for Bush I.
All George H. W. Bush had to do was say to him was “I am not your father. The Federal Government is not your father. Sit down, shut up, and get a life, you loser,” and he would have won in a landslide.
Are you suggesting Doc that he’ll be like the UPS guy on Mad TV?
Whatever intellegence he has is totally used up in his narcissism.
Romney has dealt with such guys in business, and has helped them down from their pedestal, as anything a narcissist runs eventually fails and thus in order to save such organizations the narcissist has to be removed.
The narcissists sysfunctional relationship with any truth leads to failure and they end up out of power or incharge of a failing organization.
Romney knows.
A large problem is that the criteria for permission to vote has gone from landowners to any person living or deceased.
People whose dysfunctional management of their own needs who keep this guy in power for as long as it takes for them to destroy everything around them do not see into the future for how they are going to manage when their support system breaks under their weight.
there is much work to be done if we are blessed enough to gain Romney (or anyone non-dysfunctional) as a leader.
We don’t want to go through this again.
I've been saying that for years.
Are you suggesting Doc that he’ll be like the UPS guy on Mad TV?
I'm sure the Romney knows this and will be prepared with excellent answers to the questions.
The next debate is going to include foreign policy. Its a non starter for Bam as he just let his ambassador get murdered in Libya not to mention he has no foreign policy. Mitt will clean up.
