The ad is titled Dinner Table and features a recently unemployed father trying to eat dinner with his worried wife and two kids. The only sounds that can be heard are the tinkling of utensils as the family unnervingly pokes at their food. It is a scene that has been played in real life in millions of homes across America during the Great Recession and the so-called recovery.
After 23 seconds, the ad, which was created, written, and directed by Jon Kahn, then fades to a black-and-white question on the screen: 12.1 million Americans unemployed. Isnt it time to try something different?"

Funny how the media has never mentioned the words homeless in 4 years. We saw the real Obama in the debate. The media has hidden that this Marxist POS idiot Obama was a marxist idiot for 4 years.
“You’re right, but remember that the truly rabid left only comprise about 20% of the population.”
Good point.
Workforce participation , the percentage of adults working in jobs is lower than ever before in history. I hope Romney brings that up in future debates.
“...the truly rabid left only comprise about 20% of the population.
And it seems they cause 100% of the trouble.
This was my plate when I was a kid in the '60s. Except that we didn't have chicken breast. We had ground meat. A pound of ground meat fed a family of 7. Spaghetti and meatballs? OK, maybe 2 small meatballs but they were made with meat, egg, bread crumbs, cheese, garlic, and a few other ingredients.
Mom knew how to stretch meat to feed the family. She knew because she (and Dad) grew up in the depression, when meat was what you got when the milking cow didn't give milk any more. Meat was what you got when the chicken stopped laying eggs. Meat was what you got when Dad found an errant duck.
That said (and I'm definitely not trying to belittle the ad), the ad is powerful because it reminds me of those times. It reminds me of when steak was a very rare occurrence. Of when 2 or 3 ounces of meat was plenty. It reminds me of how hard things were when I was a kid, and how hard things are for those that aren't making a living these days.
I like it...
I’m sick of this shiite! We get Romney in there and the fire-breathing engine of American spirit and entrpreneurship is going to blast off on November 7th and pull us out of this black pit of doom and gloom.
We have been forced into a corner by the evil minions of the left and they keep slapping us while telling us everything is OK. NOTHING is OK with owebama in the white hut. Time to slap back.
I love your idea!
Actually, I think others might have been right, the brown items were baked potatoes. It doesn’t matter. The ad is hunting.
I was thinking the same thing. Plates look loaded, but with mashed potatoes and bread.
I remember those depression days, but I lived on a farm and we had eggs and chicken. Also butchered our own meat, had a big veg. garden, but went to the fruit stand to pick up the half rotted fruit.
I would always duck down in the car. My dad took them veggies, and they gave him the “gone” fruit and some money.
Romney did great in the debate. First time we see the real Romeney and the Real Obama and some of the real situation in the U.S..
I would have told Obama, “Apologize now to the American people for ruining the American dream, Destroying the greatest country in the world, with 6 trillion in debt , lowest workforce participation in history and with your socialist policies that you are forcing on the American people which the media hides.” Apologize and resign or tell us how 6 trillion that you added in debt to U.S. will not destroy this country, 6 trillion in debt that you gave to your campaign donors like Solyndra, etc.” Resign now for your going around Congress, abusing power when decreeing Amnesty for illegals , a million of them to take more jobs away from Americans” Hope Romney hits this POS Obama with that.
“Rommel You magnificent Bastard... I read your book!!!”
Good ad, but at the end it should say “Vote Romney — Vote Republican”. The demoRATs are so pathelogically evil, they will try to claim this ad for their own!
Personally, I would not put ONLY the “Hispanic version” on Telemundo, the “black version” on BTV (whatever it is called), etc... I would put all of them on a few times in all venues. That would emphasize that this scene has been going on all over America, in every household, of every demographic.
Thank you for the kind words.
I’ve been wondering why Rush, Hannity, Beck, and everybody else on our side doesn’t pool their resources together, start a news organization (because Fox hires people like Shep Smith, Juan Williams and Geraldo Rivera; Fox doesn’t always hit them either, plus is part owned by Saudis), and start destroying Democrats.
Workforce participation rates would be all over that.
Great idea. Sarah Palin could have a few talk shows on that real conservative network a network where government is the problem not the solution and we fight for freedom . Where we expose Obama’s abuse of power as when it issued an executive order giving Illegals Amnesty ( passing the Dream act without congress)
Yeah workforce participation lowest ever.
New businesses creation lowest in 30 years.
etc.
