I kind of like Rush...but they really made asses out of themselves by dissing Mr. Limbaugh during the Fluke thing.
2112 is a classic album, dedicated to Ayn Rand.
You’ve got a good point, KISS is a bigger name band than any of the nominees this year.
I am disappointed Public Enemy and NWA are there and not Kiss or any of the great 60s pop rock groups or any prog groups like Jethro Tull or Moody Blues.
Rush - yes. Heart - maybe. The rest, negative.
It’s the POP hall of fame, not the Rock hall of fame.
Public Enemy is a rock n roll band now? Ummmmm, ok.
Yes, I agree about Rush dissing Rush. Canadians sticking their noses in our business is a particular bane to me. I have told my Canadian relatives, do you see Americans mocking Prime Minister Harper or telling you to vote for the Liberals or Progressive Conservatives? Canadians mind your own damned business.
DEEP PURPLE. I’m a sucker for church organ in rock music.
No Trotsky Icepick? Phooey!
Every year, I laugh at the “Rock Hall Of Fame” inductees. Ignoring proven, popular acts for artists and bands that make you think “Who?”. Every year, they induct the 60’s Blues/Jazz singer who no one’s heard of. Which is also annoying.
Rush has delivered monumentally to the history of RNR! Geddy basically said he's happy for the Fans this has finally happened!
It's ironic because Gene Simmonds basically gave Rush a platform.
I told Joan Jett that even though I loved rock and roll that she had a bad reputation and that I hated myself for loving her.
Definitely Heart and Joan Jett. Definitely not Randy Newman. He was a one hit wonder, and it was a stupid song.
Rush, definitely. Joan Jett, yes. Deep Purple; why so long. Paul Butterfield; much far too long. Donna Summer; yes. Public Enemy; most definitely yes.
Thanks for the post.

Writing songs about robots is the kiss of death with the critics.
KISS is great, but they made that song called S.E.X., which was the absolute worst parody of rock n roll about 25 years ago, but until Unmasked they absolutely shaped my childhood. Destroyer was a huge influence on me.
About time for RUSH and Deep Purple !
It’s about damn time Rush got nominated!
It gives me hope that perhaps one day Iron Maiden will get in...
“I have told my Canadian relatives, do you see Americans mocking Prime Minister Harper”
The 5% that can name the Prime Minister of Canada without Google rarely see fit to mock him.
Albert King, Donna Summer, Joan Jett.
