Had a neighbor that fed his dead chickens. The sows would hold the bird down with one foot and tear it apart one pull, eat it feathers and all.

At first I read "he fed his dead chickens" as if he fed chickens that were dead. :)
Not a good practice to feed dead chickens to the hogs. We had one that got tired of waiting and would stalk kill and eat chickens that wandered into the hog yard. That one went up the chute before attaining full market weight.
When I was a kid (about 7 or 8 years old) we used to throw live chickens in the hog pasture, the hogs would run them down and kill and eat them in about one and a half bites. Great sport; until my Grandpa caught us one time, needless to say we never did that again. In retrospect it was pretty sick.
