I am a lawyer and spent 28 years as a Navy Intelligence Officer. I have three sons. My wife and I were married in 1971. My Grandfather came to this country when he was 17 years old and had less than $20 in his pocket. My father graduated from high school in 1931 and worked for years as a farm laborer to keep the family together. He wanted to go to medical school but the bank failed and he lost most of his savings. He was drafted in 1942 when he was 29 years old and served in the Pacific. My mother taught country school for 11 years for as little as $40 a month and waited for my Dad to come back from the war. When my parents stared school they couldn't speak english. They raised three sons bought a farm and succeeded. We all live in fly over country. I never fail to be amazed by the lack of historical perspective and common sense by many of those in the more populated areas of this great land.
