“Such beasts”? I’d say on average hogs don’t act nearly as poorly toward people as the other way around.

Back in the early 80’s, while attending avionics school, I worked occasionally at a pig farm. It was located on a wooded farm lot that the boars would sometimes get lose into and defiantly wander around in.
The owner had a female Doberman name Kesha that you could call over and just roll into your lap with her paws in the air and rub her stomach.....but, when sent out to retrieve the wayward boar, she was all business. She’d nip the scrotum of the boar upon which he’d whip around in rage and attempt, I repeat attempt, to rectify the situation. Kesha was too fast and remained in range to nip, and nip again until the boar started to panic, bloody scrotum and all.
Eventually the mighty boar was humbled to the point that returning to the pen was the only thing on his mind.
It was a beautiful sight to behold.

I recently read a novel where something like this happens. I though, naw, fiction. What do I know?

One of Hannibal Lecter’s surviving victims plotted revenge by feeding Lecter to a pen full of hogs.
Lecter escaped, but definitely looked frightened.

How in the hell are you supposed to determine cause of death with a few body parts left over....

I’m on a hunting trip right now for wild hogs. Heard some this morning but they didn’t come within visual range. Property owner won’t let me use dogs anymore.
To: zeestephen
Hogs are evil. They will eat anything that doesn't eat them first.
In the feral state, they run in packs and are truly dangerous and destructive.
