In unions there is strength. But when busted you’re on your own.

Visited there last year. Nice place for plane buffs. Also, the "mother ship" model from Close Encounters is (was?) there, joke parts like an R2-D2 and all.

No knowing whether my sister's parking fee went to the right place.

He is exactly mimicking Social Security. What did he do wrong?

“Terefe stored some of the stolen cash at his home and used some to buy an interest in commercial property in Ethiopia, prosecutors said. He faces sentencing on Dec. 14.”

Oh Brother

His actions would be considered normal back in Ethiopia.

Typical government operation — without adequate controls, and easy to cheat and abuse.

The urban legend ....aka joke !

Fw: A well-planned retirement

From The London Times:

Outside the Bristol Zoo, in England, there is a parking lot for 150 cars and 8 coaches, or buses.

It was manned by a very pleasant attendant with a ticket machine charging cars 1 pound (about $1.40) and coaches 5 (about $7).

This parking attendant worked there solid for all of 25 years. Then, one day, he just didn’t turn up for work.

“Oh well”, said Bristol Zoo Management - “we’d better phone up the City Council and get them to send a new parking attendant...”

“Err ... no”, said the Council, “that parking lot is your responsibility.”

“Err ... no”, said Bristol Zoo Management, “the attendant was employed by the City Council, wasn’t he?”

“Err ... NO!” insisted the Council.

Sitting in his villa somewhere on the coast of Spain, is a bloke who had been taking the parking lot fees, estimated at 400 pounds (about $560) per day at Bristol Zoo for the last 25 years. Assuming 7 days a week, this amounts to just over 3.6 million pounds ($7 million).

And no one even knows his name.

< /JOKE>

nobody ever caught on.

The government frowns on private enterprise. Especially this kind.

Why, this represents money that the government could have used to pay for birth control *and* ObamaCellPhones for up to 22 day-job-challenged women!!

Where is the outrage??

Supposedly bike parking is free there. Take a bike, drop off your passengers, and then park on the other side of 28 near the CIA building. Bike back.

This is exactly why METRO went to those darned Metro cards, because attendants were stealing more than a million dollars a year. Yeah, I know shocking that someone in the DC Area would steal. Well, except for Congress!

Free parking?

Well, maybe the parking attendant's visitors will have some at his next location...
