The Bureau of Labor Statistics on Thursday released an early look at its annual benchmark revision of its payroll data. When the preliminary revisions become final early next year, the official data should show that 386,000 more Americans were working in March than previously believed. The private sector did even better, adding 453,000 jobs versus previous estimates.
... There was one symbolic significance to the revision: If the preliminary figures hold, they would suggest that more Americans are now working than when President Obama took office. That doesnt mean much for the broader economy there are still more than 4 million fewer Americans working today than before the recession began but it could carry political weight heading into the November presidential election.
Sure enough, Alan Krueger, chairman of President Barack Obamas Council of Economic Advisers, took to the White House blog today to tout the revision as another sign that the economy is improving. Less positive for Mr. Obama: the downward revision to second-quarter gross domestic product, which showed the economy grew more slowly earlier this year than previously believed.

Just wait till Chrissy MSNBC or that black dude on CNN run stories of -
“Romney supporters not happy about the good economy news”
Even the MSM will have a tough time making that report look good.
There’s nothing in there that will help Obama.
Just counted Obama’s private army. Ooops.
Only off by around 1 million, well done.
If the truth is not with your agenda, you make up what you call “truth” with a lie and call it the truth. These people just out of the blue FOUND 400,000 more people working than was not? I am not saying what I am thinking because I am already in trouble just thinking it.
“official data should show that 386,000 more Americans were working in March than previously believed.”
Well, I’ve always heard that “looking for work is a full time job”, so on that basis, it seems plausible.
How interesting it is that the figure just happens to cover the 0bama jobs shortfall. Please, BLS...is that the best you can do?
Big whoop, that takes care of ONE WEEK and a couple of days of unemployment apps.......................They truly are scraping the bottom of the barrel for jobs.....................
The latest from Obama campaign headquarters.
When the fine print gets released we will find that the 400,000 figure represents part time workers with two part time jobs, because they can’t find a real job.
Aren’t there laws against use the government for political campaigning?
Yeah, right.
“Sorry, these 400,000 jobs slid down behind the filing cabinet and we only just now found them.”
If they can conjure votes, why not jobs?
They count jobs like they count votes in Chicago. Whatever you need to make it good.
LOL. Yeah, “well lookee here, we found just enough jobs to make it over the line....sonofagun....imagine that....just in time for us to be able to say Obamugabe should get re-elected....”
Just a wild guess, but does this mean our national unemployment rate has dipped below 3%?
Scary. And you're right - whatever it takes to get The One reelected.
