Beware an October state of 'emergency' (... Obama's options should he fear electoral defeat)
WND.com ^ | September 26, 2012 | Robert Ringer

Posted on 09/27/2012 7:05:31 AM PDT by Perseverando

As the reincarnation of Meyer Lansky once said, “You never want a serious crisis to go to waste.”

Well, wadda ya know, the Duplicitous Despot just happens to be a man badly in need of a serious crisis, and the Middle East just happens to be on fire. But surely Obama couldn’t have created the turmoil in Arab countries all by himself, could he?

No, but he certainly has done everything within his power to fan the flames of discontent throughout the region, such as playing up the infamous, anti-Muslim YouTube video as the cause of the “spontaneous” Islamic protests.

While it’s true that Muslims are simply doing what they’ve been doing for more than 14 centuries – looking for excuses to cause death and destruction – they have been increasingly emboldened by Barack Obama’s overt support of radical Islam worldwide.

Contrary to what many naïve Republicans would like to believe, it is not Obama’s incompetence or lack of understanding of the Middle East that are behind his curious attitude toward the ongoing chaos in the region.

Obama knows exactly what he’s doing, and it is his totally consistent actions – and lack of actions (e.g., barely managing a yawn in response to the murder of U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three embassy staff members in Libya on Sept. 11 and refusing to give pro-American protesters in Iran and Syria so much as an encouraging word) – that have brought bad endings to such Arab dictators as Egypt’s Hosni Mubarak, Libya’s Moammar Gadhafi, Yemen’s Ali Saleh and Tunisia’s Ben Ali, all of whom, to one extent or another, were U.S. allies.

In his newest book, Robert Ringer goes to bat for the most maligned and beleaguered individuals in America. Don’t miss “The Entrepreneur: The Way Back forthe U.S. Economy”

Forget “electoral college” defeat. It’s entirely likely he’s gonna lose the pop vote outside MOE for a recount.

Exactly my thoughts, Barack cannot pretend he does not understand Islam. He is doing everything right to start a major Muslim Jihad. Showing weakness to Muslims is like swimming in a shark pool with a raw steak in your back pocket.

A nuclear war may be the final result, millions dead so Barack can golf some more on the public dime.

As was the case in 1996, I’m expecting a breathless announcement from NASA that they discovered life on Mars.

But if he’s behind in the polls in October – or the race is too close to call – don’t discount the possibility of his declaring a trumped-up state of emergency to suspend the elections.

Or possibly assigning special DHS MaxxPro MRAP vehicles to swing state polling places under the false pretense of a "secure" election process... and carrying off any Romney ballots to the nearest incinerator.

In either scenario would be R2/CW2 Game On.

Since the elections are run by the states, who can the President “suspend” the elections?

There’s not even a constitutional requirement for a “popular” vote.

The election is solely dependent on the Electoral College; it’s up to the states to decide how they select their delegates to that body.

That’s what I know. I don’t get this “suspend the election” idea. If push comes to shove for whatever unknowable reason the “election” can be held in the state capitols and the results transmitted to the House of Representatives.

If elections are “suspended” the state legislatures have every right to choose the electors.

So what party controls the most state legislatures??

World net daily is the weekly world news of the right...next they are going to have stories about how bat boy has been plotting with Obama to take over the world.

Why do we still give this outlet any credibility what have they ever done for us in terms of breaking news or investigative journalism it’s all false alarm borderline conspiracy stuff that makes us look like wackos

There’s no provision in the Constitution for postponing elections in an emergency.

In 1864, the Civil War was raging. The months leading up to the election saw Spotsylvania, Cold Harbor, Confederate troops within miles of DC, and Sherman in Atlanta. The election went on. That’s quite a precedent.

World Net Daily (unfortunately) hasn’t been a serious source for several years.

Are you surprised the MSM treats Obama's 'mistakes' as if he's never met a Muslim - no less spoken to one?

This is tinfoil hat stuff.

I agree - about before the election. However, if he loses there WILL be nationwide riots, together with a multitude of court cases that leave the result uncertain, and THAT may lead to some kind of declaration of emergency.

Hogwash. These are intimidation tactics by Obama's thugs. It seems to be working with one immigrant family I know who say they are voting for Obama because they fear that riots will happen if he is not reelected.

I just don't believe there will be "nationwide riots" if Obama loses. However, I would certainly like to test that proposition empirically.
