Something is Wrong
The American Spectator ^ | 09/24/2012 | Ben Stein

Have you noticed that in the past few years, and especially in the past few weeks since the murder of the Ambassador and his guards and colleague in Benghazi (a city that Erwin Rommel loved and whose inhabitants he praised), whenever the New York Times refers to Mohammed, they always call him, without quotation marks, The Prophet Mohammed, as if everyone with any sense understands that OF COURSE Mohammed is The One True Prophet and that it's just understood that Mohammed is The Prophet.

And, why all the uproar over depictions of this guy? If there are no pictures or renditions, how do these clowns know anybody is producing a picture of “him”? There are so many of these dolts named after “him”, how do they know that it’s not a pic of moe-ham-ed jones? Do we know for a fact that uncle obies middle name isn’t really mohammed? He acts like he’s the prophet being so omnipotent and all. And never have we seen someone this arrogant. And yet, there will be a bus load that’ll vote for him again. Maybe even some for the first time.

Is there any evidence that any prophets ever in humanity’s history were sent by a higher being?

It was the prophets who gave (or took) credit for the source of their prophesies.

The Old Testament standard was simple: be correct 100% of the time.

When I MUST speak of that guy I call him the warlord muhamed.

No one seems to flinch, it isn’t vulgar for the sake of vulgarity and it is historically accurate.

Right on brother. If we are going to be tagged with the label of colonialist, we might as well do it. Of course uncle obie is (in his daddys(?) frame of mind) an anti-colonialist. Unless his daddy is really FMD and then we know were the commie mind set comes from. Man do I wish stanley anne had gotten some gubmint birf control back in ‘61.

“[the Hebrew word for ‘holy’] literally means “to be set apart for a special purpose”. “ The Greek word used for “holy” in the New Testament means the same.

Too often we Christians use the word ‘Holy’ almost as as a mantra, a religious word which must be uttered in a particular tone, with appropriate pauses before and after.

In doing so, we loose the meaning and the focus. We are commanded to be holy, that is, set apart for a particular purpose.

A good chef has a knife block to ‘set apart’ his sharp knives rather than throwing them in the drawer under the counter with the bottle opener, can opener, etc.

A machinist will ‘set apart’ his micrometers in a felt-lined wooden box so that their accuracy is not compromised.

We are to be holy, set apart to be God’s hands & feet in this world. We are to be set apart from those who punctuate every utterance with “oh, my god (their ‘god’)” or “G-damn” or “Jesus Christ” all the time denying the existence of the one true God, who became a man to purchase our salvation. We are to be “in the world but not of the world.”

There is a practice, long known in the business world as *Marketing by Association* & *disassociation*.

What nuconvert says is correct - it needs to be taken in context.

But, the news we receive day in & out from MSM is all really about “marketing”, branding, influencing... w/out most us even realizing what is going on... and marketing is largely about psychology.. in FMCG it is called Consumer Marketing based on Consumer Behavior.

In this case, i believe they are set on doing what is called ‘product differentiation’, i.e. Mohammad who did the dirty/criminal deed in Benghazi, for example, is not the same as the “loving, caring, benevolent, etc... “Prophet Mohammad”, who was supposedly peace loving.... until it is indelibly imprinted in your psyche/brain.. you get the idea...

Wow, in less than four years (one term in office), we’d have hundreds of billions rolling in from that oil business !

And we'd have the birth of the Empire of The United States. No thanks.

Though your proposal sounds like a lot of fun...if we are willing to spill american blood by the river...

Both aganstan and iraq were militarily neutered within a few weeks; very few American causualties resulted given the size of the operations, and our kill ratio was superb. And, if the war was fought as a real war, would have been even higher.

Once we have air supremecy, we simply should carpet/fire bomb with air/artillery/tanks as efficiently as possible - to destroy everything, having no concern for anything but destruction. It's simply levelling a city or town.

After a few towns, all the villagers will run when they hear an attack coming.

When finished demolishing, set up a no-man's-land ring of death around the oil for defense.

If the locals come begging for food, set up a secure facility where they never come into physical contact with Americans but get herded like cattle in a stockyard, and they get a Christian preacher preaching to them piped in on a sound system while they wait and while they eat. Add on the cost to the nation's bill, to be paid back to us in oil.

It's only when we play house-to-house combat and we have politically correct rules of engagement that Americans get into far more danger.

If we only had to conquer, take the spoils of war and return home, the whole mideast would be wrapped up in a year. And, we would earn money instead of spending money. The oil profits could be used to pay down the Federal debt.

I would much rather not pump too much of our own oil until after we pumped the mideast dry in the above manner; that keeps us in the driver's seat.

We're already in the wars. I did not say claim the territory, just do what we did in the first few weeks of the wars we already fought. Just finish the job (destroy everything worth destroying), then take the oil as the spoils of war. Protection for the oil pumping would be paid for by the oil, and take far fewer boots on the ground. Planes, apaches, drones would be very cost-effective for establishing a ring around the oil wells. Shoot everything that moves in no mans land "ring".

As it is now, we're not claiming the territory, but we're undertaking some ridiculous nation-building with people that have hated everyone for 1400 years. We're spending hundreds of billions that we will never be paid back. And we've lost thousands that, under my plan, would not have been lost to all those IEDs/homobomber attacks.

I don't think we should risk our guys when we don't have to - if anyone attacks our guys, they should simply back off and level the whole town. Let the locals figure out that attacking Americans is bad for their health.

The minute the oil is gone, we pack up and leave.

I always thought they called him The Prophet Muhammed to distinguish him from all the other violent thugs named Muhammed.

I thought "Mohammed" was Arabic for "go beat somebody bloody, rob him naked, and cut his head off."

Mohamed was not a prophet. No evidence exists that he was sent by any higher being. I will never refer to him as the prophet.

Well, you've got the screen name to make that call! ;D

He acts like he’s a muslim, in every thing he does.

Except when he walks the dog for the cameras, to give us the lie. (Of course, he got a fatwa from one of his fuzzy-wuzzy mufti pals first ... kind of like a dispensation from the Pope -- you can run a whorehouse with one of those.)
