In the years Ive been watching politics and foreign affairs I dont believe Ive ever seen any story come unglued as fast as the Obama administrations version of events on what happened to our diplomatic presence in Egypt and Libya on September 11, 2012. And I dont believe Ive ever seen a senior government official so completely repudiated in a mere week as was UN Ambassador Susan Rice.
When Ambassador Rice took to the Sunday shows last week, the implausible, even at the time, story she spun was one of the Arab street inflamed by a YouTube trailer to a video that may or may not exist. Since then weve learned that there was advanced warning of the attack, the staff at Benghazi was afraid an attack was in the offing, the attack was planned, it was led by a a graduate cum laude from Gitmo, and that the administration had decided not to provide US security forces for the embassy in Tripoli or the Benghazi consulate. To paraphrase Mary McCarthy on Lillian Hellman, every word she says is a lie including and and the".
It is hard to paint Rices actions in any but the harshest light. Either the administration did not have access to the same facts as the rest of us, like the statement from the Libyan government, and made a conscious decision to try to bluff their way through events relying on the inactivity of a supine press or they did have the information and chose to lie about the events to put themselves in the best possible light. In either case, Rice should resign. But she wont because she needs the job more than she needs integrity.
That would be April Glaspie:

...US Ambassador Glaspie:
“We have no opinion on your Arab-Arab conflicts, such as your dispute with Kuwait. Secretary (of State James) Baker has directed me to emphasise the instruction, first given to Iraq in the 1960s, that the Kuwait issue is not associated with America.”
(Saddam smiles)
At a Washington press conference called the next day (July 26, 1990), US State Department spokesperson Margaret Tutweiler was asked by journalists: “Has the United States sent any type of diplomatic message to the Iraqis about putting 30,000 troops on the border with Kuwait? Has there been any type of protest communicated from the United States government?”
To which Tutweiler responded, “I’m entirely unaware of any such protest.”
On July 31, 1990, two days before the Iraqi invasion, John Kelly, Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs, testified to Congress that the “United States has no commitment to defend Kuwait and the US has no intention of defending Kuwait if it is attacked by Iraq.”
An ad like that is best left to Restoring Our Future or some Super PAC. For good measure they can add Obama on Letterman spreading the lie.
Yeah; you’re right. It should be done by a Super Pac. I just have a feeling that when Obama is running out of $ about mid-October, the Pro-Romney forces are going to blanket the airways with ads that will excoriate Obama. They need to body-slam him with ads.
Both.
I’ll be sure to park in it in a liberal’s garage in case it catches fire.
She can’t be both?..................
She is Ambassador to the United Nations, her front title. However, she has her fingers in just about every pie in DC and NYC through her closeness to the president. Her influence and power, especially in Mideast affairs is strong....and scary.
She's considered a member of the DC black power elite. She's married to an ABC news producer. Her father, Emmett J. Rice, was the second black governor of the Federal Reserve. She's Council on Foreign Relations (CFR).
She served as foreign policy advisor to presidential nominee John Kerry in 2004 and to Barack Obama in 2008. Former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright is her long-time mentor and family friend.
She reportedly blocked efforts to accept the Sudan's offer to turn Bin Laden over to the US. Her involvement was chronicled by our friend Mansoor Ijaz (former Fox contributor), but it was covered over by the administration.
Don't underestimate this woman. She works behind the scenes mostly.....undermining our country and doing the bidding of her Dear Leader. She is a Rhodes Scholar, a lefty, of course, but scarcely a brainless "nincompoop".....and she should be regarded as a threat to the Republic.
The Obama administration is loaded with these leftist moles, not the least of which is the State Department and the United States U.N. contingent.
Leni
Amen brother.
Like computers, you put crap in you get crap out.
Yes.
