A veterans memorial in the form of a peace cross in Bladensburg, Md., has come under criticism by the American Humanist Association, which has said the memorial is a religious symbol on public land and that the government should not be in the business of promoting religion.
This cross amounts to an unconstitutional government endorsement of Christianity on public land. It is an exclusively Christian symbol that does not represent the sacrifice of non-Christian soldiers. Its prominent presence on public land leaves any observer with the notion that Christianity is exclusively favored and promoted by the government, said Bill Burgess, director of the AHA Legal Center.

Freedom of Religion does not mean that you have the force of law to allow you to free yourself of all other religions. Something the Humanists need to contemplate.
Another thing to contemplate is that someday God will call for the removal of all Humanists from earth. He has a place for them.

Who is it hurting ? Militant atheists astound me.
Tell this “Humanist” someone buried in the cemetery would have to personally file any legal motion to have the cross removed.
A soldier’s cross memorial in a largely Christian culture is not unusual at all. They’re all over Europe.
This is a largely Christian culture, and other smaller movements within the culture are just that.
Cultural expression is free speech.
I hope they keep an eye on it... These type of people tend to vandalize, destroy or steal the Christian monuments they can’t make illegal.

16. Use technical decisions of the courts to weaken basic American institutions by claiming their activities violate civil rights.
27. Infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with “social” religion. Discredit the Bible and emphasize the need for intellectual maturity which does not need a “religious crutch.”
