Texas Gov. Rick Perry is accusing President Barack Obama of engaging in spiritual warfare and is urging Christian voters to send a message to Washington that our nation is about more than some secular laws and activist courts."
According to the Austin American-Statesman, the Republican made the claim in a conference call with evangelicals Tuesday, in which he warned that the "spiritual warfare," as he put it, "may be growing stronger as President Obama and his cronies in Washington continue their effort to remove any trace of religion from American life."
He added, "It falls on us [as] Christian warriors, Christian soldiers, and it's for us as Americans, to stand our ground.
Perry, who withdrew from the presidential race earlier this year, also dismissed the idea of separation of church and state....snip...
"The idea that we should be sent to the sidelines [is] driven by those who are not truthful," the governor said. "Satan runs across the world with his doubt and his untruths, and what have you, and one of the untruths out there [that] is driven is that people of faith should not be involved in the public arena.

The quotes make clear that Governor Perry believes Obama is attempting to remove Christianity from the marketplace of ideas.
The truth is that no one appears to attacking Islamics and other religions in any concerted fashion.
Today in the news is a piece about cheerleaders in Texas being forced to stop using biblical quotes on their banners. All due to the complaint of a supposedly anonymous caller.
Interestingly, one of the banned quotes is the motto of the State of Ohio:
"With God All Things Are Possible"
He is right
To those who posted on the other thread, same as this one: I had it pulled. I had inadvertently added one of my comments to the Newmax article. I asked for the assistance of the sidebar moderator, and he let me know that the only way to fix something within an article itself is to start over, so that’s what I asked the mod to do.
Sorry for the lost posts. My fault.
I am all in for the 40 days of pray........going into the election.
Pam Geller is running this ad in New york on buses, etc.
She was talking about it on CNN with Erin Burnett.
Geller was spot on.
Burnett was sickening. Accusing Geller of racism and spreading hatred.
What does “spiritual warfare” mean, in Rick Perry’s religious world? NAR?
As a non-religious man, my first thought was of Satan when I saw the words “spiritual warfare.” They can be seen as pretty hard-hitting words, IMO.
What does Perry mean by spiritual warfare?
As an evangelical Christian, Perry most definitely means what a huge majority of evangelicals would answer to your question: He specifically means Ephesians 6:1
“12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”
That’s just my opinion, but I’d bet that Perry knows that verse almost by heart and has used it on many occasions.
God Bless Rick Perry!!
I was extremely disheartened that Rick didn’t do better in the primary process. I still beleive he would have made far and away the best president of any of those running.
He understands that the issues our nations faces are ultimately of a spiritual nature. He also understands state’s rights and the need to deconstruct and completely drain the DC swamp more clearly than anyone out there.
We need more people drawing this line in the sand.
“God says this, and leftists advocate the opposite. Choose this day whom you will serve.”
Same here. Perry was my first choice a year before the primary season even began.
Governor Rick . . you’ve got it right! If you can’t see the spiritual warfare behind this election, you are either ignorant or lost. The press does not have to come together to form a cabal to support Obama each morning. The principalities in high places lead them to oppose all that is right and good. I pray for Mitt each day. . that he will come to know the true Jesus Christ as Saviour and use the power of God to oppose these evil forces. He stands for many decent things but I just want him to know the true source of goodness and righteousness.
"Since BarackObama has forgotten how much he's added to the Natl debt for all our kids to pay off"
That will really be fun, trying to declare war against more and more “social media”.
GO PERRY!! Preach it - cut to the chase! This is a war between Good vs. evil!
God’s people vs the godless!
"Satan has only come to STEAL,/KILL and DESTROY; I have come to give them LIFE and more abundantly." John 10:10
Way to GO, PERRY - keep exposing evil and how it's using this admin to fulfill the reason it has come!
I agree with you. I continue to hope I will have the opportunity one day to cast a vote for him as president. He’s the leader this country needs.
God bless him.
Perry has been my choice all along precisely because he is the type of person who leads on his knees before God and the United States is in deep spiritual peril under an administration that is anti-Christianity, anti-Israel and pro-Islam.
Sadly, Perry will not be able to lead in this way as Commander in Chief but I pray he continues his bold Christian witness, setting an example for others.
I pray earnestly for Spiritual renewal across the land.
