A 20-year-old woman who falsely claimed she was raped by three men because she regretted having sex with them has been jailed for two years. Rosie Dodd, of Nottingham, claimed the men, who were aged 21, 23 and 25, assaulted her at a home in Clifton, Nottinghamshire, in the early hours of a Saturday in June. The trio were arrested after Dodd claimed they had all raped her after she met them on a night out in the city - and they spent a total of nearly 50 hours in police custody before being released on bail.

Remember the politician who recently caught the backlash from his honest assessment about rape....This is one case...
Illegitimate rape.
I’m sure that every state has a similar law on the books (it’s called Public Mischief here), the question is how many actually enforce it?
Good, I’m glad. I hope the US does the same thing every time.
A good lesson to pass onto our teenage sons. “You act immorally and this could be the consequence”. These guys were lucky that the truth came out. They could have served long prison terms.
From the statistics I have seen about 40% of the rape claims made by women are false. The only way to cut down on that number is to prosecute them for doing such.
Apparently
she should get the same sentence THEY would have got if she had gotten away with it.
"THEY" ... as in all three of them ... sentences to be served consecutively.
“... the only way to cut down on that number is to prosecute them for doing such”.
I agree. I can’t imagine the fear that went through these young men’s mind. Handcuffed, fingerprinted and held for 50 hours. Maybe she can think about her actions while doing some time.
She should have been sentenced for the same amount of time of the crime(s) they were charged with. In this case multiply it by three. Then add on another 20% for the false charge she made.
...And, the girl who fasly claimed the Duke ball players raped her still hasn’t been charged for making false claims.
Not even considering the whole moral issue, having sex with strangers is a dangerous activity.
I like the way you think!
>>> “she should get the same sentence THEY would have got if she had gotten away with it.”
Agreed. Admittedly it’s great to have the liar punished at all, seeing as how most get away with it, but she attempted to ruin 3 lives plus those of their families.
Pathetic witch.
She's up for murder.
i’ve seen similar statistics. i agree.
certainly, going by those numbers, nationwide, there must be a LOT of people in prison now, who are innocent.
( i just read about 3 WOMEN who spent 12 YEARS in prison,
for “sexually molesting” their nieces. the “ringleader” wasn’t even a lesbian. she was pregnant at the time!
...now, one of the girls admits, nothing happened...)

“real” rape is terrible. but so is having your life destroyed, by a false accusation.
