Sudan won't allow the United States to send a platoon of Marines to protect its embassy from rioting Muslims.

According to a report released by the SUNA state news agency, the country's government formally rejected the request Saturday. The news agency quoted Sudan's Foreign Minister, Ali Ahmed Karti, as saying, "Sudan is able to protect the diplomatic missions in Khartoum and the state is committed to protecting its guests in the diplomatic corps.”

State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland confirmed Saturday in a terse statement that the Sudanese government had “recommitted itself both publicly and privately to continue to protect our Mission, as it is obligated to do under the Vienna Convention. We are continuing to monitor the situation closely to ensure we have what we need to protect our people and facility.”

The U.S. decided Friday to send in a group of 50 Marines after rioting Muslim breached security at the embassy in Khartoum and entered the compound, which is located outside the city. Speaking on condition of anonymity, a Washington official said the Marines were already on their way to Khartoum when word was received the request was rejected. why is it that any news and facts out there wich will hurt this admin is only in the international media whilst ours just finds ways and groups up to attack Romney.

We should have protested the media HQ’s up and down this country some time ago.

Even today I had to tell a guy that all of this was not about a movie.

Sudan is a nation in name only. It is only remotely in control of anything from what I am able to observe. That is not a new situation.

I was under the impression that one couldn’t use “allow” and “Marines” in the same sentence like that.

"Shut ‘er down and come home - no loss to anyone!"

I am good with that. Let the Sudanese deal with their perceived problems. It is time for the U.S. to take a hike from all of these "rogue" countries and see how they resolve their internals. Perhaps, when the citizens of these rogue states make their pilgrimage and finally realize they are factually walking on glass, they will understand how they have been used.

Send in 100 aides with Hildabeast to visit Sudan, and have them each bring in a rather heavy diplomatic pouch. Then we just forget to bring them home on the plane.

Either that, or inform the Sudanese “government” that we WILL bomb...oh, I forgot that Hussein is the “President,” so never mind. Let’s just run away with our tail between our legs before something bad happens, at least then a few lives will be saved.

Oh, for a REAL President. I miss Ronnie!

I wasn’t aware host countries had a say in how we internally secure our diplomatic missions.

And stop the millions in foreign aid. Especially the money to protect the slave traders and the money to rebuild mosques.

They have a say as to armed foreign nationals entering their sovereign territory. But in this case I suspect they’re keeping their options open in case they want to send in some enraged “students” to take hostages.
