Sudan won't allow the United States to send a platoon of Marines to protect its embassy from rioting Muslims.
According to a report released by the SUNA state news agency, the country's government formally rejected the request Saturday. The news agency quoted Sudan's Foreign Minister, Ali Ahmed Karti, as saying, "Sudan is able to protect the diplomatic missions in Khartoum and the state is committed to protecting its guests in the diplomatic corps.”
State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland confirmed Saturday in a terse statement that the Sudanese government had “recommitted itself both publicly and privately to continue to protect our Mission, as it is obligated to do under the Vienna Convention. We are continuing to monitor the situation closely to ensure we have what we need to protect our people and facility.”
The U.S. decided Friday to send in a group of 50 Marines after rioting Muslim breached security at the embassy in Khartoum and entered the compound, which is located outside the city. Speaking on condition of anonymity, a Washington official said the Marines were already on their way to Khartoum when word was received the request was rejected. They were called back, pending further discussions.

This week in New York city (where I unfortunately live) is the beginning of the Useless Nations, I mean the United Nations general consul meeting where NYC lays out TONS of money protecting the Dip-low-mats of these very countries that are allowing our embassies to be trashed.
Think any of our wet noodle wrist flitting effete politicos will use the occasion to send a message? Hellll no. As usual these bugs will get their arses kissed, businesses will lose money, people will be made late for work - some will lose their jobs because of it - and as usual Columbia university will have their annual “Lick the anus of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad dinner” when they invite him to dinner like they always do this time of year. And will the lefty brainwashed students hold protests? Of course not! They only have screaming rioting protests when someone like Ann Coulter or some other speaks there.
Zero will ignore this.
Wow, the tide has gone out for us, huh? We used to be able to see above the heads of every nation. Now I feel like New Orleans looking up at the Gulf Of Mexico. Even Sudan’s pushing us around.

If trouble breaks out in Korea, Afghanistan, Iran, Sudan, Greece, and God knows where else all at once ... what with our economic troubles and all ... we'll just pull our heads into an isolationist stance, and let the world collapse around us.

Close our embassy. Kick their diplomats out of the US. Don’t give any of them visas to come to the UN. Stop all flow of our money to them. I don’t care if their kids don’t wear shoes! That’s their problem! None of my tax money should be sent there! I’m losing ground rapidly here!
This means that while the embassy staff is in Khartoom they are effectively hostages. Obama will leave it that way in order to save face.
Close the embassy.
Obama will pay their random demands quietly, and then claim that his brilliant negotiations saved the day.
