KHARTOUM, Sept 15 (Reuters) - Sudan has rejected a U.S. request to send a platoon of Marines to bolster security at the U.S. embassy in Khartoum, the state news agency SUNA said on Saturday.

Obama, the big PUSSY
Why would Sudan agree to make the eventual storming of our embassy actually dangerous?
If I were in charge, I’d ask them (and other countries) whether they wanted our embassies there or not. If not, then forget about any form of foreign aid. If so, let us decide whether the protection they provide is adequate or needs augmentation.
These aren’t imperial colonies. They are embassies. Either they get protected and treated as they should be, or they should be retracted along with any pretense of friendship with the host country that refuses to honor diplomatic norms.
You don’t understand. We are asking as a matter of protocol. But we ain’t asking.
Isn’t a US Embassy considered sovereign US soil? If we want Marines there who is Sudan to tell us no?
This could be the beginning of a hostage situation.
You know it, I know it, Moochelle and Valerie know it, Putin knows it, Al-Zwahiri knows it, the Chinese know it, Netanyahu knows it... but approximately half of the US public doesn't seem to. Very depressing.
That’s what a hypothetical American president would tell them.
The genocidal Islamofascist dictator said no — I’m sure it will be discussed in depth on the Sunday talking head shows. /s
Thanks Hunton Peck.
“If we want Marines there who is Sudan to tell us no?”
Can Sudan refuse to let Marines enter their country? Be hard to smuggle in a platoon, in diplomatic pouches!
Simple solution. You bring home all U.S. diplomats and staff from Sudan, and you eject every Sudanese diplomat, etc. from the U.S. And you pull any funding they might be scheduled for.
Probably some truth in that. We should ask again and if we don't get an immediate favorable response, withdraw all US personnel and terminate aid and assistance programs. What Obama will probably do is bow, apologize for giving offense, and send more money if we can send a few marines with severely restricted ROEs.
Thanks for the thread!
Only under the whimp from the windy city must we say, “Mother, may I?”
And Obama has dived out of sight for the whole weekend.
Summit with Zawahiri?
True. Attach them to the Embassy and give them Diplomatic credentials. If Sudan want us to accomodate their diplomats they can reciprocate.
