Travis, it looks like they read your article and are trying to corner the market on ammo.

The Homeland Security office gearing up for war and Obama loves to spend tax payers money faster than anyone in history.

What's wrong with this picture?
1)The Social Security Administration requested massive amounts of .357 ammo;
2)the Department of Homeland Security ordered 450 million rounds of ammunition;
3) the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) submitted an order for 46,000 rounds of high powered ammo for the National Marine Fisheries Service,
and 4) DHS wants, in addition to other munition, sniper ammo, as in "two types of .308 caliber rounds. Blank ammunition and 168 grain hollow point boat tail ammunition"
BUT
5) United States BORDER PATROL AGENTS cannot fire upon illegal aliens;
6) Marines were told to disarm before Panetta's speech; and
7) Marines have been disarmed at our embassies in hostile countries?

You know, 100 million rounds here, and a 100 million there, and pretty soon, you have a lot of ammo!

168 gr HPBT is the favorite 1,000 yard round for Camp Perry target shooting. It's illegal for use in combat per the Geneva Convention. Geneva requires FMJ. No hollow points. I don't think there is a big target shooting competition coming up. The targets are domestic. Humans. Us.

However, it is the type of ammunition and not necessarily the quantity that is troubling....Why the .308? Because it's what you use to snipe individuals openly carrying their rifles from a range that makes it hard for them to find you and return effective fire.....

Does anyone have credible evidence how many rounds are needed for practice and to maintain certification? How many rounds per person per year? How many people total? I don't think it's going to add up to 200 million .223. And the .308, why does a constitutional republic need .308 sniper ammo to be used against it's own citizens?

7.62mm NATO/.308 is one of my very favorite rounds. Good to know that there will be some around if its needed. Knowing our government... they will store it in a U-Haul storage unit with small Yale lock.

And why isn’t a Republican Congress having daily hearings about the accumulation of anti-civilian ammunition? Is no Republican curious about why the government needs to be able to kill so many of its own people?

They are not even attempting to hide their intentions anymore...U.S. citizens are the government's #1 enemy and they are preparing to deal with them...
If there is an election this fall, and if the Rumney-RINO is elected, the first priority is to rescind all the unconstitutional EO's the fascist peacock has issued.
The second priority is to totally dismantle DHS, an agency that provides absolutely no value and, in general, operates outside the boundaries of the former Constitution. If you examine the history and mission function of the Sturmabteilung, you will find that it is almost identical to that of the DHS...Only the color of the uniforms is different...
