If You Live in a Blue State, Here Is What You Can Do To Help Romney Beat Obama
Sept. 14, 2012 | Ziva

Posted on 09/14/2012 6:54:13 AM PDT by Ziva

No matter where you live in the USA, you can make a difference in this election by going to http://www.mittromney.com/call-home-landing.

I live in NY, a hopelessly blue state. There is very little I can do locally to help Romney. However, they have an excellent phone-from-home system this year, much better than other phone banks I've done before.

I started making phone calls from home for Romney. It is easy, well-supported, and free. It is important to start now so they can target the right people for the campaign. You can get started at http://www.mittromney.com/call-home-landing

They will direct your calls to the states where they need the most help, so don't worry about calling out-of-state. There are no long-distance charges because the system calls you first to enable you to make the calls to others.

I sat on my hands last election and didn't work because I didn't like McCain. (Of course, I voted.) Even though Romney was not my first choice, another Obama win would be disasterous. Please pass this on to all your political friends. The calls made now help identify voters who can be moved to vote for Romney.

My goal is to make at least 10,000 calls. That comes out to about 200 calls a day which can be done in less than three hours. They really make it quick and easy. I do not want to be partly responsible for 0bama getting reelected.

No one should feel that if he or she can make just 100 calls, it is not worth the effort. EVERY effort helps and WILL make a difference. If you can call only one hour a week, then you WILL have done your part.

I do want to remind of the the reality of phone-banking. Some people will be hostile or rude, may hang up brusquely, insult you, or try to engage you in time-wasting arguments. Just end the call politely and move on to the next call. Do not be discouraged by these calls.

There is a place for notes for each call. If the person is a Romney voter, I ask if they need help getting to the poll or need an absentee ballot and put that information in the note field. If an undecided voter tells me what campaign issue is important to him, I note that as well.

Your important work will show the campaign all undecided voters that can be influenced with campaign materials, and all Romney voters for a get-out-the-vote (GOTV) effort at the end of the campaign.

Many of us are suffering in this bad economy and can donate little money to this campaign. If you do have the money to donate, please do. However, my point is that we all can donate some time to help, and it is as good as money to a campaign.

If you are in red or purple state, then I hope you get involved with the local Romney campaign. You can still use spare time at home to make phone calls.

If you are in a blue state, then please join me in doing what you can from home with phone calls.

Next, please pass this on to your friends everywhere. Let's create an army of workers bigger than the unions do for the Dems. And please let me know personally if this helped you get started working on the campaign.

I spent a good amount of time talking with a family friend who said she voted Obama because she was a democrat and her family always voted dem. She had no computer.

I shared some simple truths with her and subsequently got her to read a couple of things I printed out for her. In 2010 she re-registered and voted (R).

Here's the good part: like someone with a new love or new diet she began talking to everyone she knew and proudly shared what she had learned about government, taxes, business and basic freedoms. She ended up talking her two daughters (20 and 23) into registering and voting for the first time/ They went (R) also. I was personally responsible for 3 new voters, but think what we could do if just 1 out of 4 of us would make the effort to convert just one new voter!

Terrific! I’m no Romney fan but we can’t take another four years of Obama. Nothing will hold him back if he wins. There will be no need to pretend. Let’s all get on board and do what we can. Our Founding Fathers pledged “our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor”. Turning this country around will take more than posting to the choir here at FR.

Outside of asking if someone needs a ride to the polling place on election day, I for one, detest all these calls.

I detest the fact we allowed politicians to exclude themselves from the Do Not Call list. Just one more example of how our politicians view us as peons to only appease during the election season.

In 2010, it became so bad with so many calls, I phoned the local GOP chairman and asked “outside of physical violence what do I have to do to stop you people from calling?”

He tried to brush me off so I told him the name of every democrat I would vote for if I received one more call.

Somehow the message came through and no more calls.

Who cares who wins. There is no alternative to corrupt governmant juat a variation... The house and even Rayn just voted to give Obama every dime he wanted. Obama hasnt been the irresponsible one the republicans in the house are by feeding his communist plans with every stinking dime he wanted. They are culpable and cannot be trusted with our liberty anymore than the left.

I am convinced evil is evil and I will not support evil whether its an R or a D

Im out of this round. The country is dead either way.

Well, I’m not much of a Romney fan, but I just donated to his campaign for the first time today, I guess I might as well ‘get in the game’ and make some calls too. We all gotta do our part to get rid of the Marxist in Chief.

With Obama we know it’s downhill all the way for sure. With Romney we may have a chance. For the sake of my children and future generations, I will vote for Romney and ask others to do so. This country deserves better than someone like Obama.

I agree 100%.

I will not help with calling for this exact reason.

I am in favor of the proposed amendment which says that elected officials are subject to every law they pass. No exceptions. If I have to follow the law, they have to follow the law.

Mr. Political Candidate, DO NOT CALL ME.

Calls piss people off. You think you can badger, annoy, and brow beat people into voting for Romney??

This is EXACTLY the approach we should be taking. Bless you for this!

Your approach has so many advantages:
1. It works!
2. Cost effective. No need to donate money to any organization. Nothing siphoned off for the professional fundraisers and bureaucracy.
3. Doesn’t annoy anyone with an unwanted call from a stranger.

...and probably many more advantages that I haven’t thought of.

Great job, Baynative! (I’m still working on my niece who voted for 0. She’s good-hearted, but young and naive. I’m trying not to push too hard, which could have the effect of just making her dig her heels in to prove that she is “independent.”)

Your #10 is dead on. Obama didn’t spend all that money, the Republicans as much as the Democrats voted to give it to him then they complain that he got the money.

It’s a one party system with a few exceptions tossed in to make it look good.

Bread and Circuses.

Live calls are OK. Thank You for doing your part! :-)

BUT, any Robocall I get will result in a “no” vote for the candidate.

I know someone in the campaign, and I told him this. People HATE Robocalls. They will do more harm than good.

Thank you for the information. I personally have hated doing the calls because I am afraid I it is going to be irritating to people, but I know it is still effective. In the 2008 election, Republicans did not have a strong political mechanism in place. There were very few calls made in my area compared to the number for the Democrats. The Democrats won. They didn't worry about irritating anyone. They plugged on with their Democrat machine. Since we are so dependent on the clueless, uninformed, and misinformed to tip the scales and vote for our side in this election, it is very important to make the calls and at least get some name recognition working for us.
