More Hope and Change Mike Klonsky, an Obama supporter and former associate of the radicals who formed the terrorist group the Weatherman, received a $175,000 grant from the William Ayers/Barack Obama-led Annenberg Challenge to run the Small Schools Workshop.
Klonsky belonged to the Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) and was best friends with friends William Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn who later became famous for their acts of terrorism. Later he started a blog on the Obama website:
Between 1979 and 1981, Communist Party chairman and Obama supporter Mike Klonsky was repeatedly feted with state-dinner-level visits to Beijing.
And get this Klonsky reportedly shared offices on the same floor with Barack Obama and Bill Ayers at the University of Illinois, Chicago campus.
So it should come as no surprise that Mike Klonsky, the former Communist Party leader, is a huge supporter of Karen Lewis, head of the Chicago Teachers Union. Chicago teachers went on strike today for the first time in 25 years despite the fact that the average teacher salary in Chicago is $74,839 a year.
Michelle Malkin has more on the Chicago education mob.
Obama served with Weather Underground terrorist and neighbor Bill Ayers on the Chicago Annenberg Challenge education initiative. Downplaying academic achievement in favor of left-wing radical activism in the public schools is rooted in Bill Ayers pedagogical philosophy. Obama served as the programs first chairman of the board, while Ayers steered its curricular policy. The two oversaw grants to welfare rights enterprise ACORN and to avowed communist Michael Klonsky a close pal of Ayers and member of the militant Students for a Democratic Society. SDS served as a precursor to the violent Weather Underground organization.
As investigative journalist Stanley Kurtz reported, Klonsky and Ayers teamed up on the so-called small schools movement to steer schoolchildren away from core academics to left-wing politicking on issues of inequity, war, and violence.
You just cant make this stuff up.
"...so if the strike is just a made up crisis to help Odungo look like a hero, and we all know it, he looks like an a&&hole, but if the media won't cover it then we have to spread the news and make sure it gets out so he still looks like an a**hole......got it"
I’m on the edge of my chair waiting for the exposes about this on the three nightly newscasts, MSNBC, CNN, WaPo, NYTimes, Rolling Stone, PBS, Time, Newsweek, Vanity Fair, 60 Minutes and The Nation. This should kick Mitt Romney up 20 points!!
Sure. Like Romney and Ryan both came out in support of rahm yesterday and he turned right around and bitchslapped them. It’s a scam, a sham, and it’s Chicago. No one cares.
The Rush comments were brilliant. Regardless of what oblunder does, it can only be good if we paint him with chicago. At worst it makes him look provincial.
.........Emile outlines the assumptions under which young boys, especially, should be educated. Rousseau's philosophy on education stressed the natural goodness of man and a condemnation of social conventions, most of which he believed were culpable for man's corruptive behavior. To rehabilitate mankind, Emile emphasizes the following for the various stages of a person's initial education:
1. The purpose of education is to develop a child's natural capacities. Natural education should be as far-removed from society as possible.
2. The aim of education should always be child-centered and individualized. Children learn by utilizing their senses; they are guided by natural curiosity. 3. A good teacher is unobtrusive; teachers are not there to enforce doctrine or rigid instruction.
4. Children must never be pushed to acquire information. If they are moved on their own to learn about something, they will.
5. Children will develop a sense of morality through their trials and errors. They do not acquire morals by being punished for bad behavior. Teachers are never to discipline children for perceived wrongdoing.
From such ideas, many American educators were able to promote and systematize a progressive agenda in education that placed a premium on child-centered (as opposed to knowledge-centered) instinctual "learning activities." As progressive teaching models came to have more influence, authoritative, well-informed teachers and traditional textbooks began to be viewed as antediluvian and unnecessary.
Once the progressive education models of the '60s and '70s turned into their present-day postmodern structures, administrators became especially devoted to using the following paradigms to motivate students to learn:
1. Defining a student's intellectual abilities through self-expression activities such as dance, unstructured writing, self-written poetry readings, and various forms of play.
2. A de-emphasizing of the core curriculum subjects of Western civilization in favor of subjects that underscore minority issues and excessive openness towards diversity.
3. Achieving academic equality through non-competitive groupthink projects.
4. Caricaturing and condemning traditional learning methods and devices such as rote memorization, drill, and recitation.
5. "Dumbing down" or avoiding subjects that can be mastered only through ongoing practice and hard work.
6. Grade inflation.
All of these ideas and practices have failed American students by the factory-load and are responsible for creating successive generations of "me, myself, and I" citizens who lack intellectual depth and who are prone, paradoxically, to unproductive mob behavior."....
Interesting stuff. One would guess that inner city schools with lots of minorities would be ripe for such “stuff”.
I also note the word democracy thrown around liberally. No pun intended. By virtue of the misuse of the word, we have almost become one.
I know fairly intelligent people who swear they’re not for communism yet they read stuff like this and it makes no difference to them. This country is in a sad state.
Wow, what a surprise.
“I know fairly intelligent people who swear theyre not for communism yet they read stuff like this and it makes no difference to them. This country is in a sad state.”
We may THINK they’re intelligent... but obviously they are NOT. When I was in grade school, we ALL knew what a commie stood for, hence the air raid drills, hiding under your desk for protection, sitting in the hallways with your hands over your head for a drill. Remember that folks?
This will be corrected by the coming Big War—Its around the corner. America will have her back to the wall, any who do not support her will be driven out or sent to the camps. communists will be rooted out and the union leaders forced to work with the Government or face charges. This could happen sooner than one thinks. Israel hits Iran, Iran hits the US Fleet and allies in the Gulf, Terrorism hits USA, Egypt joins the attack with Syria on Israel, China and Russia get in—WW III. In US A new Draft, Rationing of gas and food, Laws will be harsh, Soldiers on the streets, lines for everything!

Not only do I remember that- but I remember something my seventh grade geography teacher told us. He said by the time WE were ready to collect social security- it would be bankrupt.
"Why am I not surprised?! Look at me! NOT being surprised!"
“Not only do I remember that- but I remember something my seventh grade geography teacher told us. He said by the time WE were ready to collect social security- it would be bankrupt.”
Now wasn’t HE the smart one. Yes there were some smart teachers then and now. The smart ones today are NOT intimidated by the lefty agenda and here in WI we have taken a stand against the powerful and disgusting Teachers Union and have begun to dismantle their power. The real teachers want nothing to do with a union. They can stand on their own two feet.
We’ll see where Rahm comes down on this strike in Chicago.
You forgot the liberal progressives aligning themselves with any group attempting to overthrow our constitution. A lot of citizen turncoats like WW11.
GOV. BOB MCDONNELL: PRESIDENT OBAMA IS ALLOWING SPECIAL INTERESTS TO BE PUT AHEAD OF STUDENTS
Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell today made the following statement on the strike by the Chicago Teachers Union:
Yet again, President Obama is allowing special interests to put their agenda ahead of serving our nations students. This is Chicago-style politics at its worst. Even the Presidents former chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel, recognizes that this strike is wrong. Its disappointing that the President has decided to stand idly by as the Chicago Teachers Union walks out on thousands of schoolchildren.
“I know fairly intelligent people who swear theyre not for communism yet they read stuff like this and it makes no difference to them. This country is in a sad state.”
I got up early and put my American Flag out. I did my usual four mile walk this morning and saw no other flags.
That tells me that the sheeple have ‘moved on’ and no longer care, unless it involves their government check being late.
