We took a family trip to Tampa this weekend and I was very surprised at how many people I heard talking about the election -- and how anti-Obama every conversation was. At the hotel pool, baseball game, breakfast, sitting outside our room on the balcony - we overheard many people discussing. And it was all types of people - a middle-aged Jewish lady (she identified herself as being Jewish), an older couple who seemed more rural, a young woman and man whom we had conversation with at breakfast, a large Italian family who was there for a wedding. It was so interesting to hear what they were saying. Obamacare seems to be the main concern everyone has, along with the poor economy.
At the gas station on the way home, a man told me he liked my Romney/Ryan car sticker and gave a thumbs-up.
Just a personal experience that gave me a glimmer of hope that maybe, just maybe, more people are clued in than I think!
Your niece is a smart girl...go Gators!
What part of town does she reside in so I can keep an eye out?
Living in Tampa.... I can tell you there are Obamabots lurking about...
They just know not to open their mouths because they will get a verbal thrashing from most people...
I lot of them are not voting this year....
We live in Tallahassee and are big Rays fans. We took our small children to their first baseball game this weekend (Rays/Rangers). We stayed in Safety Harbor - have stayed there before - and really enjoyed it. Very quirky, small place but is nice for families. Weather was beautiful Saturday; Sunday it was a downpour. I could not find any hotels near the stadium that looked suitable for us.
If the Rays make it to the play-offs, we will probably be back this season.
I will say I notice that Tampa has an unusually large amount of thrift stores!
War Eagle!!
Positive vib bump.

Tally is a nice town once you get past all the garnet & gold...ick...LOL. My wife’s best friend lives up there and we flirted with the idea of moving there. Unless she went to work for the university or the state, the job prospects for her were slim (corporate meeting planner).
I am glad you had a good time. Yah, The Trop is kind of a dump, but it is our dump...lol. But when those afternoon storms roll in like clockwork in the summer, it sure is nice to be indoors.
You might consider staying out at the beach next time. It is about the same commute as SH. St. Pete Beach or Treasure Island is pretty much a straight shot to the Trop.
Big series with the Orioles starting tonight. Go Rays!
Idiot sister-in-law actually lives in Clearwater, but that is close enough.
good...a whole bay of water between us...lol
