What is a gun?
I don’t have any guns.
Nope. Can you imagine “anyone” attempting to “disarm” the State of Texas?
The very idea is silly.
And I know how law enforcement and the military feel about this. Won’t happen.
>> author is an attorney.
Fortunately, we won’t need as many attorneys after the totalitarian takeover of America.
And an ass. But I repeat myself.

The author is a jackass. If our military was so all-powerful, then we’d never hear mention of certain points on the globe- Vietnam, Afghanistan come to mind.
Better to lie in a pool of my own blood, than live in a State such as this! Wolverines!!!!!!!!!!
The cost of disarming me will be high. For them.
That’s why you need a cheap one to give up and the good stuff stored in a secure location.
Far, far better to die on your feet than live on your knees.
Not to mention, this whole discussion is rhetorical, as the imbeciles in D.C., as stupid as they can be at their worst, would never attempt it. They'd be chewed to shreds, and no force on Earth could save them. Any group of "leaders" who ever concocted and actually sent the ball up on this one would be done-for, finished, spent, played, over, finitio, kaput.
I think the technical term would be "Suicide by Patriot."

Either the point of this article is to provoke gun owning citizens to resist in a united front...in mass...or just to acquiesce and lay their guns at the feet of the state, bow down to the oncoming tyranny and accept inevitable subjugation.
Guess it kind of depends on the mood I’m in that day
Compare and contrast.

There aren’t enough “agents” to roll down the street all at once, so there will be plenty of advanced notice.
Additionally, none of my collection is “registered”.
With just a little bit of notice, I can become very difficult to locate.
If you don’t think there are enough folks in a similar situation to make a difference, you’re mistaken.
Why do folks believe that everyone “deputized” by some gov’t agency is willing to play along with this little plot?
No. And millions more won't, either.
Just because this lawyer is peeing his panties in fear of the feds, don't mean the rest of us are.
Any potential confiscation attempt will be over and done with LONG before they sweep door-to-door. Those people have to go home sometime, and when they do, end of story. A few like that and suddenly, there will be a shortage of labor to execute the confiscation.
Authoritarians can only use the police and military to crush dissent when they know the secret: they will not attack their own, but will attack some other minority.
Then ask yourself, if you had a company of US Marines, what Americans would they willingly attack? New Englanders? Floridians? Texans? Californians? Which of these people are so different from where the Marines came from that they would not be seen as fellow Americans?
Otherwise, what happens when their company commander is replaced by a political appointee, who puts on the Marine uniform, declares himself their new commander, and orders them to fire on unarmed citizens?
He will likely find his command to be short-lived, punctuated with his pitiful screams that they must “Obey me! Obey me! Do what I order you to do!”
The number of firearms and ammo in private hands in this country is simultaneously unknown and incalculable. Some of it is on the books, but the vast bulk of it isn’t. Anyone who thinks disarming the civilian populace will be a casualty free walk-in-the-park is crazy as a loon. Fortunately, I think most police/military are smart enought not to execute such an order. Some may go through the motions, but that’s about it.
