WHEN DO WE START TO LIVE AND BE HAPPY?
We convince ourselves that life will be better after we get married. Then we are frustrated that the kids aren't old enough and we'll be more content when they are. After that we're frustrated we have teenagers with whom to deal. We will certainly be happy when they are out of that stage! We tell ourselves our life will be complete when our spouse gets his or her act together, when we get a nicer car, are able to go on a vacation, when we retire. The truth is, there's no better time to be happy than right now. If not now, when? Your life will always be filled with challenges. It's best to admit this to yourself and decide to be happy anyway. Alfred D'Souza said, "For a long time it had seemed to me that life was about to begin - real life. But there was always some obstacle in the way, something to be gotten through first, some unfinished business, time to be served, a debt to be paid. Then life would begin. At last it dawned on me that these obstacles were my life". This perspective helps us to see that there is no way to happiness. Happiness is the way. So, treasure every moment that you have. And treasure it more because you shared it with someone special, special enough to spend your time with ... and remember that time waits for no one. So stop waiting until you finish school, until you go back to school, until you lose ten pounds, until you gain ten pounds, until you have kids, until your kids leave the house, until you start work, until you retire, until you get married, until you get divorced, until Friday night, until Sunday morning, until you get a new car or home, until your car or home is paid off, until spring, until summer, until fall, until winter, until the first or fifteenth, until your song comes on, until you die, until it's too late to decide there is no better time than right now to be happy ... for happiness is a journey, not a destination.

Glad it worked for you.
The only reason I know that is that at work lots of sites are blocked and I can’t see graphics and backgrounds on those blocked sites. I’ve learned to mouse over the blank spaces and find any text. d:o)

The essay on being happy now, reminds me of a quote I wrote down many years ago. “Everything doesn’t have to be perfect in your life, for you to be blessed now.”

Amazing Grace (Click)
By John Newton
Amazing grace! How sweet the sound That saved a wretch like me! I once was lost, but now am found; Was blind, but now I see. . Twas grace that taught my heart to fear, . And grace my fears relieved; How precious did that grace appear The hour I first believed! . Through many dangers, toils and snares, I have already come; Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far, And grace will lead me home. . The Lord has promised good to me, His Word my hope secures; He will my Shield and Portion be, As long as life endures. . Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail, And mortal life shall cease, I shall possess, within the veil, A life of joy and peace. . The earth shall soon dissolve like snow, The sun forbear to shine; But God, Who called me here below, Will be forever mine. . When weve been there ten thousand years, Bright shining as the sun, Weve no less days to sing Gods praise Than when wed first begun.

The Lords Prayer Andrea Bocelli (Click)
DEAR LORD, who suffered torment, agony, and death upon the Cross to free our souls from the chains of iniquity, protect and defend our troops. Guide them in the performance of their duties. Strengthen them to endure hardship, danger and deprivation in Your service. Let their efforts free the people of Iraq and Afghanistan from the chains of terror and slavery, foster a lasting peace in the region, and bring all to a greater share in Your Mercy.
Amen.

Thanks, Mac, for Amazing Grace....two versions, both wonderful.
Been a busy day here. My Dad "passed" his finger stick and we don't go back for 4 weeks! Yeah!
Did a library run. I've been parking in handicapped parking, trying to get my Dad to come in, but not today. Then an Emergency Preparedness event was taking place in the parking lot and it was a long walk into the library. Turn in the old and get new...all large type books. They really like mysteries, so it's pretty easy to get books.
Then home to take some pictures of the wind damage to us and the neighbor. His yard backs up to the creek but the wind blew down his trees into the yard....his yard is covered in downed trees and branches, and one must have come down on his roof...he now has a blue tarp roof on this end. I am so thankful that our trees went away from the house.
Our deck in the background and the tree that fell on the schoolyard fence.
From our yard looking at the base end of the tree.....it peeled up all the ground around it.
The second tree in our yard. It also landed on the fence.
The neighbor's yard....you can just see the edge of the blue tarp roof.
More of the neoghbor's yard...I'm in the schoolyeard.
Then the guy came to tear down the front steps and start putting in new. The old wood was really rotten and because of the width, 5', they need 4 stringers instead of 3. So, we are upgrading to code. I was in and out all day just looking and answering questions. He left about 6p and I swept up the sawdust. He will be back Monday to finish. He hadn't been gone a half hour before it poured down rain for 20 minutes.
Just finished baking a pizza and now I can sit. My knees are screaming.
