CNBC's Harwood: Eastwood Speech 'Big Blunder, Big Set-Back For Romney'
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Posted on 09/08/2012 7:10:40 AM PDT by governsleastgovernsbest

Guess John Harwood was feeling lucky today. CNBC's chief Washington correspondent went on the Today show and boldly proclaimed that not only did Clint Eastwood not accomplish his mission with his RNC speech, but that the speech is almost universally viewed by political professionals as "a big blunder, a big set-back for Mitt Romney."

Harwood did not adduce a scintilla of evidence in support of his contention that the speech hurt Romney. And his universe of pundits apparently does not include people like Jonah Goldberg or Mark Steyn.

Perhaps those who are seen as political professionals are not experts, but rather wildly partisan propagandists. Yah think??:-)

I put a doll house chair in the rear window of my car. I’m thinking of making a podium with pillars (2008) and putting the empty chair on stage. Maybe add a monitor.

If members of the mediabots hated what Clint Eastwood had to say, they hated it A LOT.

But in their hearts (if they have hearts) they knew that something was basically true about what Clint was saying.

And they also knew, with dread certainty, that they themselves had been the instruments of propagating a huge hoax on America.

But that would be to infer they have some kind of collective conscience.

I don’t do bumper stickers but I would use a Clint Eastwood pic with those words. Or even ‘Do you feel lucky, punk?’ Afterall, those words are iconic??

It’s not a direct insult to anyone but the message would get across, like Freedom is not Free, which is what I use.

'Big Blunder, Big Set-Back For Romney'

Within the limits of the District of Columbia (has it ever voted Republican?) -- but outside of the Washington beltway, out in the 57 states, I doubt it.

Harwood is a liberal tool posing as a reporter.

Now that would be a good bumper sticker.
“There is an empty chair in each of the 57 states”
or something like that.

Eastwood’s stunt opened the door for the great national mocking of Prez Hussein.

You’re exactly right. In a very real sense, the Eastwood speech was a game changer.

That the MSM is still talking about, and trying to discredit, it almost two-weeks later is a testament to the effectiveness of the speech; not to mention the damage it did to Zero.

Another Clint Eastwood Classic!

I would expect no less from Clint—one of my faves.

We have that one on our car as well but would consider taking it up a notch with an iconic Eastwood quote. :)

Someone could be making a lot of money right now
with at least two versions.

Bumper sticker, window sticker (my preference)....

Guess I could cut out a photo and make the words myself. Hmmm

Harwood is a joke. He couldn't be more of an Obama apologist. Clint said what everyone already knew but was afraid to say - - Nobama is an empty suit (or chair).

Indeed, what else can we expect them to say? When you are over the target the flack is heaviest. If you throw a rock into the Pig pen and you hear a squeal you know you have hit a Pig.

The fact they cannot ignore it is testimony to how effective the speech was. Eastwood used humor to make his point rather than using the Liberal way of downright nastiness and name calling.

Using ridicule against Libs who take themselves so very seriously is by far the most effective way to get to them and elicit their usual wild eyed off the wall reaction.

Great job by Eastwood as attested to by the fact we are still talking about it 10 days after the speech was made.

Convinced me. I'm voting for Obama. By the way, what did Clint say? :)

If people make political decisions based on one or two speeches instead of the facts, they deserve the type of government they get.

Voting Democrat is like having immoral sex. Wait, is that on their platform? I'm surprised they're not having sex on stage to promote the party. Maybe that's next.

Democrat Platform: no God, no values, no right and wrong, illicit sex, drugs, illegal immigration, disease, unmanageable students in school, unmanageable adults in life, economic implosion, dictatorship, genocide, destruction.

Harwood is the one that that bloviating blowhard on CNBC, Larry Kudlow, refers to “you are the best John Harwood”. I can’t stand that phony Kudlow.
