AFTER A week as topic No. 1 in American politics, former Carmel Mayor Clint Eastwood said the outpouring of criticism from left-wing reporters and liberal politicians after his appearance at the Republican National Convention last Thursday night, followed by an avalanche of support on Twitter and in the blogosphere, is all the proof anybody needs that his 12-minute discourse achieved exactly what he intended it to.
President Obama is the greatest hoax ever perpetrated on the American people, Eastwood told The Pine Cone this week. Romney and Ryan would do a much better job running the country, and thats what everybody needs to know. I may have irritated a lot of the lefties, but I was aiming for people in the middle.

>>Clint should have said that one sentence and walked off the stage.<<
He was BRILLIANT!!!
He admitted that he is not good at speeches and detests Teleprompters. He said that he CHOSE to wing it. It grabbed attention like never before.
Think about it, if he had just walked on the stage and gave a speech, it would have been ignored by the MSM.
But instead, he stuttered and fought for words, long enough to get everyone listening then dropped the lines that he wanted to say. The chair was an afterthought that has become the Meme of the campaign.
Mark Steyn said it was intentional and I have to agree.
Ya gotta love Clint Eastwood! He calls ‘em like he sees ‘em.
Thanks for posting.
I just watched a Breitbart TV video of Chris Christie bashing Eastwood with Jimmy Fallon; he said Clint’s act “just didn’t work.”
Really...?
“Though I reflexively love Clints movies, it took me a while to appreciate Josie Wales. Now it is a favorite. Filled with great actors and characters all showing the true nature of Americans, good and bad.”
Great post. The Outlaw Josie Wales is my all time favorite Western.
"Buzzards gotta eat same as worms"
Fortunately, taking the entire speech into context and the liberal heads exploding in its aftermath, it was a brilliant stroke of genius!
Who would accuse him of that? Anyone who can’t handle the truth is always into ‘labeling’.
What would Clint gain by lying? What do you possibly think he wants or could gain from this? It is FOR our country - not him!
‘Elected by a ship of fools________’
By Aug. 2009 I was up-to-here with BHO yammerin’ at me everday on T. V.
Then it occurred to me that I was more worried with the electorate.
I would be side by side with them going about my every day business - dopes.
And how does one educate them to what they did??
And more to the point - how to educate them to NOT do it again, dammit!
Halftime in America.
I used those EXACT same words around the time it became clear he would likely be elected President, so I was able to leave out the words “President”. I and many many others pretty much knew what was coming, regardless of all the post-post-post this and that rhetoric he rode in on.
Don't tell me, let me guess:
Have you seen one or more workers with BO stickers/buttons/posters in his/her office?
Have you seen at least one worker with a BO "shrine" in his/her office? I mean something approaching an altar, with candles (if permitted) and food offerings etc.
Have you witnessed at least one professor teach a course on why BO is supposedly a god of some sort?
Have you witnessed a higher-up administrator smirkingly repeat some of BO's staff's slogans?
Nice graphic.
That's one of the reasons I loved "Curb Your Enthusiasm" (first five seasons). There was no script, just a general outline for the actors to follow, and a lot of improvisation. (Creator) Larry David is a big liberal, as I understand, but I'll bet he was watching Eastwood's performance and taking notes.
Wouldn't it be great if Larry David came over to the right side? I can dream...
If you want to know who controls you, find out who you are not allowed to insult. - Travis McGee
To Ancesthntr: You should get a job as a Fox Analyst. You understood what Eastwood was doing while others including some conservatives, totally missed the message you wrote about.
Eastwood is no dummy. He picks his targets carefully and hits them head-on. Just look at his movies, his carefully phrased messages about crime, liberals, and our enemies (”Heartbreak Ridge”, for one).
He and his writers have given us the most memorable lines about social and political issues of any individual actor.
“Go ahead, make my day”
“Do you feel lucky, punk? Well, do you?
“This is a 44 magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world”
And unfortunately the one he left out of the RNC speech, about Obama, was:
“A man’s got to know his limitations”.
When Obama loses in a landslide in November, we will all be singing “Play Misty for Me”.
As for me, I’ll be playing Annie Lennox’s “Would You Lie to Me” about a thousand times, saying, “Yes, Obama - you did!”
Excuse me but I have a meeting with one Madame LaFarge. Something to do with what we need to do after the election, something about getting a-head as soon as possible.
If you want to know who controls you, find out who you are not allowed to insult.
Absolutely; well put.
It was supposed to be a contrast with all the scripted speeches, because Im Joe Citizen,
We know where your heart is Mr. Eastwood. God bless you.
>>You do realize Clint is pro-Abortion and pro-Gay Marriage
Yeah but “that’s not part of our campaign”.
We are still talking about it aren’t we?
Regarding “Clint should have said that one sentence and walked off the stage.”
“Aren’t we gonna bury ‘em?”
