In just three short minutes, Democrats handed the 2012 election to Republican Mitt Romney.
In a surreal floor vote at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, N.C., at 5:04 p.m., long before prime-time viewers flipped on their TVs, delegates split hard on whether to include a simple mention of God in their platform, and to declare that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel.
Awkward, embarrassing, stupid, unforced error, said Democrat Paul Begala. That doesnt even begin to capture what will be a game-changing event in the presidential election.
With no advance warning and no fanfare, Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, a rising star in the party, took to the podium. He gave the floor to the head of the platform-drafting committee, former Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland.
As an ordained United Methodist minister, I am here to attest and affirm that our faith and belief in God is central to the American story and informs the value we have expressed in our partys platform, he said. In addition, President Obama recognizes Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, and our partys platform should as well.
Well. The delegates voted by yelling yay or no.
Spotlight Mr. Villaraigosa. In the opinion of the chair let me do that again.
He did. Another vote, half yay, half no.
I, uh, I guess said the by-now formerly rising party star, turning for help.
An unknown woman sidled up and told him, You just gotta let them vote, and let them do what theyre gonna do.
Finally, in vote 3, the nos clearly won, but the teleprompter said otherwise and the motion was deemed passed: God and Jerusalem as the capital of Israel were back in the party platform.

We have never seen anything so sickening (in an organized political event).... The lunatic, anti-American fringe has seized control of the DNC.
The Republicans need to re-broadcast this video clip many, many times between now and November.
Marxists are atheists
People have never forgotten that Philly Eagles fans booed Santa Claus. And that was in 1967.
This is gonna be ten thousand times worse.
I am not ‘Sunday go to meet’n’ myself, but I am certain that you depart from the book at your own peril.
After all, this country WAS colonized by Christian Europeans!
Turns out Squaw Warren was right that the system is rigged against the people. We just didn’t realize she was talking abou the DNC.
God works in mysterious ways.
If only our side had the same commitment to our principles instead of agreeing to nominate moderates because Karl Rove says we have to.
It was the main story on CNN’s site at least for an afternoon, but then of course it faded away.
Ain't that the truth!
Can I have an Amen?!?!

Should read.....
“In just three short minutes, Democrats handed the 2012 elections to Republicans”
The debacle is all encompassing and the stench and stain clings to all Democrat candidates
It is even more ironic than that. As a preface, remember that you needed photo ID to get into the Dem convention, but Dems say you don’t need photo ID to vote, because there is no vote fraud. With that in the back of your head, they were stupid enough to debate the existence of God on national TV. When they didn’t like the outcome of the first vote, the demanded a recount. When the recount affirmed the original vote, they demanded another recount. When the third recount affirmed the first and second votes, they committed vote fraud on national TV and declared the vote in favor of, get this, two things the Dems absolutely disagree with. Then they boo’d!
If the American people aren’t smart enough to throw Obumbler and the Dems out this year, there is no hope for the country.
Wow... an excellent set of observations! If they’re willing to defraud card-carrying Democrats at their own Party’s convention, what’ll they do to defraud the public at large in November?
Day of, besides FOX, it made ABC News online. I watched the ABC evening newscast that night, and nothing. The chirpy, cheerleading convention coverage made me sick. The news team couldn't hide their smiling faces.
Just showing at their core how tolerant they actually are.
I agree. It was freakishly biblical. It still causes me to shudder when I watch it. It also reminded me of some of the stories of rebellion in the old testament. I guess some things never change.
We need to keep reminding people of this fiasco. MSM will probably ignore it. One Dem complained that their votes meant nothing.
