Virgil Goode makes presidential ballot in Virginia
The Washington Post ^ | September 4, 2012 | Ben Pershing

Former congressman Virgil Goode Jr. has qualified for the presidential ballot in Virginia, the State Board of Elections ruled Tuesday, adding a potential obstacle to Republican Mitt Romney’s hopes of winning the pivotal state.

The state Republican party has already challenged the eligibility of Goode, who is the Constitution Party’s nominee, and could still get him knocked off the ballot.

I voted for Stufflebeam. What makes Myth any better and any less execrable than the lot lizard Judy Baah Baah Tooopinka??? In a stunning upset I was able to vote GOP for governor in 2010 but not for Senate. And, as far as I am concerned, since the Washington, DC, GOP-E reached out with the better part of a million smackeroos to upset my very fine Congressman Don Manzullo in a GOP primary using leadership stooge Adam Kinzinger and bringing him in from a Chicagoland district, I will not, starting in January 2013, have a Congressman until Kinzinger is beaten by ANYONE.

In Illinois, we fight the bi-partisan Chicago machine up close and personal. They have now extended their GOP-E subsidiary's reach all the way to the Mississippi River along the Wisconsin border with one exception. They will want to purge Joe Walsh to eliminate that exception and Bobby Schilling as well. Those are Illinois's best two left.

The "GOP-E" trained organ grinder monkeys in this state wanted Myth with all their shriveled little hearts and vestigial brains. They are doing what Chicago TELLS them to do. The GOP-E is warming up to nominate a lavender queen and Myth enthusiast for governor next time (2014) against Pat Quinnochio Quinn, the single most brainless excuse for a governor in 50 states. Makes Governor Moonbeam of Californicate look like Einstein. Of course, Tiny Dancer, aka Chicago Machine thug, ballet dancer and Mayor (in that order) Rahm Emmanuel may take out Quinnochio in a primary for the good of the Left. You just cannot make this stuff up! And yet we have people who hallucinate that electing Myth will somehow benefit America????

What you are saying is this:

Virgil Goode is as much a political tramp as Charlie Crist, the flipfloppy go-both-ways shape-shifter political whore.

“the guys who almost always end up running as spoiler candidates are not the conservative superstars who can make a principled stand, but some third-stringer who possesses no qualifications for the office he or she purportedly is seeking.”

Easy: This is nothing more than a publicity stunt, zero chance of getting any real headway, especially if the media ignore, and zero chance for getting elected.

So the ABR folks are voting for an ex-Democrat who supported Gephardt once because they don’t like the Republican nominee for flipflopping on social issues ... huh. fancy that.

Making a ‘principled’ vote for such a political cross-dresser is a contradiction in terms. The only ‘principle’ served is - ‘lets make it easier for Obama to win’.

“We need Obama to be swept out of office, and Romney is the only person with a working broom. A vote for Goode makes it easier for Obama to win reelection.”

Agree.

I would remind you that I supported McMahon both times, that I would support Lucifer over Blumenthal (look him up as to what he was doing 50 years ago in Daniel Patrick Moynihan's Maximum Feasible Misunderstanding as to how the reds took over the NYC Democrat Party from socially conservative Irish) or ask him personally (since you know who I am), how likely it would be that I would EVER vote for or tolerate him. His answer and Lowell Weicker's ought to be the same. There I go again bad-mouthing GOP pro-aborts. Damn Straight! I have never had a single kind word for Martha Coakley OR Cherokee Liz Warren, just sulphuric acid.

It was nice that Scott Brown took Chappaquidick Teddy Bare's Senate seat and I suppose he beats the alternatives but he is irrelevant to the BIG PICTURE. No one would run him for POTUS or let him redefine the GOP in his image and likeness. Mittler is a considerably different story. Both are Taxachusetts pols without much discernible principle. Both SHOULD therefore have been utterly irrelevant eccentrics and guaranteed losers nationally. If Scott Brown stays in Taxachusetts as its junior Senator, he can be enough better than a Cherokee Liz to justify continued existence. Romney was able to BUY the GOP nomination which Brown could never do. No one has to utter a "false word" about Coakley, Cherokee Liz or especially Blumenthal (who is actually older than I am, thanks be to God!). The unvarnished truth should be more than sufficient.

How will Connecticut prevent Roraback from becoming the GOP-E candidate when Blumenthal goes the way of all flesh (Hurry on Sundown!)?

I will look at your Brown link and comment further. OTOH, my paternal ancestors left Massachusetts by the early 1920s and I don't expect much of the commonwealth nowadays. Brown is not in my horse race. I don't find him repulsive enough to oppose or attractive enough to spend time on.

I have no idea whether Scott Brown CLAIMS to be Catholic, despite supporting abortion and homosexuality. IF he does not CLAIM to be Catholic, that would be another reason to vote FOR him because he does not slander your Faith and mine and his original opponent falsely claims Catholicism when virtually every word out of her mouth triggers latae sententiae excommunication (OK, I exaggerate but not by much). Job #1: Eliminate from public life pro-abort and pro-"gay" everything types falsely claiming to be Catholic.

The website seems fine and Catholic. It attacks Brown because he won. I do not doubt it would be attacking Coakley if she had won and will attack the alleged squaw if, God forbid, she may win. A time for everything under heaven. Catholic.org and the Slaves of the Immaculate Heart of Mary or whatever seem not out of line on this. However, aren't they Feeneyites??? If so, I question THEIR Catholicism, too. That is a separate question.

Let me guess. YOU support Mittler for POTUS against Obozo. Of course, as with all of Mittler's supporters here, you will claim that he was no higher on your chart of desirable GOP candidates than about 47 gazillionth but, hey, he won the nomination so he's all we got and, since he is not Obozo (however close), we just gotta get behind him as OUR candidate. Right?

Then, I cannot resist saying to you that although I would have preferred Sarah Steelman or John Brunner in the Missouri GOP primary for Senate, they both lost to Todd Akin. That makes Todd Akin??? I know! The ONLY GOP candidate and therefore the best GOP candidate in the field. If Mittler would resign from the GOP ticket in favor of Ryan in exchange, I would imagine that Todd Akin would at least consider stepping down too. Otherwise.... Go Todd Akin! Beat McCaskill! Humiliate the useless GOP-E who so want to betray you! Under the circumstances his election would be Missouri voters rejecting both McCaskill, the corrupt Obozocrat, AND sticking a spear in the eye of the despicable the GOP-E. What's not to like???

I'm sure that you must agree that Todd Akin is now the best GOP Senate candidate running in Missouri. I know that I like him more and more with each passing day. Principles are sooooo rare in the 2012 GOP. Akin may be the start of something big!

Thank you, my friend.

Virgil is a gentleman. I respect him. I offer my congratulations to him and his supporters for overcoming the jack-booted thugs of the two-legged socialist beast in Virginia.

I do disagree with him on several key points though.

I don’t think he fully understands his obligations as POTUS to protect innocent human life. All I’ve ever heard him say is that he would support someone else in another branch doing something or other. I haven’t heard what he would do to fulfill his the sworn obligations of his own office to support the Constitution in this regard.

Two, as you pointed out, he has adopted the wrong-headed isolationist views of the the party whose standard he now bears.

Three, even though in debate I forced him to admit that the centerpieces of the New Deal and the Great Society are unconstitutional, he still staunchly supports them. He won’t touch entitlements, instead saying that he will balance the budget on the back of defense. Not only is that not wise, it isn’t even possible.

forget the excuses or the rationale....why don't you keep obammey "honest" in stead of always trying to thwart a mildly conservative candidate..

did it work in Minn?...no because the idiots gave the constitution party just too many votes, not enough to win, but enough to get AL diaper baby Freakin in the Senate....

MNJohnnie:

Now, as Paul Harvey would say: Here's the rest of the story. Reagan took office in 1967 when there were still some liberal but God and Country civilized Democrats in his legislature and, I believe that they controlled the State Senate. OTOH, there were some pretty serious Birchers in Reagan's California then to whom he was actually talking in your quote. They had never gotten over the fact that they could not elect Joe Shell as governor and have immediate nationally televised mass executions of leftists and Bilderbergers and CFR members and what not (OK, I exaggerate but not by much!).

Reagan NEVER had much use for leftists posing as Republicans. Remember that our banner should be "only bold colors no pale pastels???" George Romney and Nelson Rockefeller and William Scranton and Ed Brooke despised Reagan and he them. No one familiar with Ronaldus Maximus should imagine that if he were alive and possessed of his marbles and in his prime, he would somehow reject the principles of his lifetime for the sorry likes of Mittler. Also, the "Eleventh Commandment" of Gaylord Parkinson (?) not Ronaldus Maximus does NOT apply.

Mittler NEVER voted for Reagan and Mittler said so himself.

Compromise with Pat Brown era Democrats (a few of them) in 1967 is one thing. Compromising on every social issue and caving in to Pelosi, Reid, and their ilk in THIS era is quite another. For POTUS, conservatives have no 2012 major party candidate. That may pain you but it is true. Do you think Reagan (or FDR) would have settled for a mere 3% (which is about much as you and Muffy's trust fund can hope for from Mittler in exchange for the destruction of GOP and the nation???) but, hey "we" beat Obozo!!!!!!!

I was a Reagan State Chairman when he challenged Ford (an earlier Mittler). Were you?

If you succeed in electing this barbarian disgrace Mittler as though he were a Republican much less a conservative, pray to God to postpone the inevitable day when you despair over what you have done.

Don't tell me about Nancy or Little Ronnie Tutu or Patty or their opinions, either. Do you hear anything from Ed Meese and Judge William P. Clark? They are both alive and silent. Wonder why?

Repeat Offender is on the side of the angels here and MNJohnnie is suffering from Mittler influenza, a passing phenomenon with a short shelf life. He will likely recover sooner than he thinks.

MNJohnnie:

Let's see:

Romney is a rampaging pro-abort and always has been regardless of his lies of the week.

Romney supports "gay" everything and crammed rump-ranging posing as "marriage" down Massachusetts' throat (so to speak) with NO legal basis whatsoever (don't reference the court decision, I know better) only his insatiable passion for being a trendy bunghole.

Romney is a gun grabber.

Romney may be counted on to gut the military unless the spending feeds Muffy's trust fund. No man in his family line has served in uniform in memory.

Romney PERSECUTED the pro-life churches as governor of Taxachusetts by FORCING them to subsidize abortion and sex changes and sterilizations and birth control and abortifacient drugs though that necessitated violating their religious doctrines. First Amendment be damned full speed ahead! Why? Because of his uncontrollable passion for being a trendy....

Romney just had to cram "Romneycare" down Taxachusetts' throat because of his insatiable passion for being a trendy...

Romney then followed that up by sending his leftist preppie policy geniuses to DC to guide Obozo in establishing Obozocare. That made Mittler grandfather of Obozocare which he now expediently CLAIMS he will repeal and REPLACE. REPLACE with what. Notice the absence of details???

Romney appointed nothing but constitutionally illiterate judges in Taxachusetts where he fit right in with the political culture---just like OBOZO!!!

Romney included $50 abortions in Romneycare (now reduced to zero dollars) and put Planned Barrenhood on its board TWO YEARS AFTER he first lied that he had become "pro-life." Just last week, he told CBS that he supports having a "health of the mother" exception as part of any law. That's a six-lane highway justifying ANY abortion under World "Health" Organization standards and he KNOWS it.

He is not even elected and already he has corruptly change the party rules to stifle grass roots dissent from his GOP-E passions. Boehner pretended not to hear any dissent and thereby forced the rules changes that the big boys in the back room demanded to prevent any re-emergence of actual Republicans.

As you know, I could keep this up but that will probably suffice as a preface to my question to you. Provide the specifics of how Mittler is supporting "us" 85% of the time. Did you mean 0.85% of the time but misplace the decimal point???? Or were YOU being the fraud who is lying about YOUR "real political agenda?" I gave you ten of his heresies.

I think you owe me more than 60 significant issues that matter on which Mittler is one of us! I'd settle for 60 or even 30.

FWIW, I don't think you are a fraud or an idiot nor certainly is Repeat Offender a fraud or an idiot. I do want to see you struggle against reality trying to justify the CLAIM that Mittler agrees with conservatives 85% of the time or anything remotely resembling 85% of the time. My popcorn is at hand. Lotsa nice butter and salt. I am betting you won't even try to justify your claim (with specifics on issues as specific as I gave you).

Repeat Offender:

Don't take this guff lying down. You're right and he's wrong. Want some nice popcorn? If it takes him too long, I can order pizza.

Drew68:

Let's take a little trip down RINO Judiciary Lane. Do you remember:

GOP SCOTUS horrors: Earl Warren and Demonrat William Brennan and Potter Stewart (Dwight Eisenhower appointees) the last two voting to establish the abortion holocaust in Roe vs. Wade; Warren Burger, Lewis Powell, Herod Blackmun (appointees of Nixon) all three of whom voted to establish the abortion holocaust in Roe vs. Wade; Sandra Day O'Connor and Anthony Kennedy (later Sandra Day O'Kennedy) each apparently pro-life and Kennedy actually so but sold out the babies thereafter; David "Swish" Souter (BGush I appointee via Sununu I) and a thoroughgoing social revolutionary.

Give us three proofs that Mittler is likely to appoint ANYONE better than these. Spare us the quadrennial GOP-E hysteria over judgeships. If even Reagan could be suckered by Jim Baker into appointing what Baker knew was the pretty blonde Unitarian pro-abort, that's a mighty big mountain for you to climb.

Voting against BOTH of the major party eagerly pro-abort monstrosities, my conscience will be verrrry clean. Also GOP Senators will not resist Romney's appointments who will be "ours" as they would resist Obozo's. Demonrats will be delighted by either candidate's nominees.

Will the Romneycare death panels be any kinder? Or will they send in the accountants to calculate the value level at which the sick shall be allowed die. Obozocare is simply national Romneycare. IF there is some difference between Obozo and Mittler, it is certainly NOT on “healthcare.” Try again, this time with some honesty and integrity please.

Virgil Goode was one of the most conservative members of Congress. Yes, he was a Democrat, but he was the last conservative Democrat. Prior to being elected to Congress, Goode challenged incumbent Senator Chuck Robb for the Democrat nomination. As a Democrat Congressman, Goode voted to impeach Clinton.

I like Goode. I've supported him. But he isn't the Republican nominee, and a vote for Goode in a competitive state is as good as a vote for Obama. If you live in a Democrat state, protest but voting Goode, all you wish. Virginia is a swing state and may decide the election.

the followers of Catholicism.org attack Brown because he won. They also attacked Brown during his campaign. And never an interest in the facts. They couldn’t tell you who voted yes/no on Kagan, never heard of her.

The A.L.L. crowd in CT attacked pro-life Greenberg during the campaign so they could support the fake pro-lifer Bernier, last-place man. Now they say they are unsure about Roraback. ????? confused people, just a bit ?????

Roraback & Obsitnik CT-4 are deserving of 3rd-party efforts. The foolish cannot distinguish between Roraback and McMahon ... which one do we support? Which one do we oppose?

It y’all cannot distinquish between allies and adversaries, best for them to stay out of politics. The article at Catholicism.org is full of lies, not worthy of the site. (They are Paulistas.)
