Eight years after California Sen. Dianne Feinstein said the push for legalizing same-sex marriage was “too much, too fast, too soon,” the Democratic Party will make history Tuesday when it is expected to be the first major party to endorse same-sex marriage in its platform.
While the plank packs no legal power, it marks a cultural milestone.
“Another important societal cue that things are shifting,” said Amy Simon, an Oakland pollster who is working for advocates who want to legalize gay marriage in Maine and Washington. “As people are working through their conflicting feelings on this, they're looking for cues and this is another one.”
The platform declaration could spark political blowback, and one of the nation's leading opponents of same-sex marriage already is trying to make it an issue in pivotal swing states that have passed laws codifying marriage as a union of one man and one woman.
“By doing this, the Democratic Party is basically telling voters in places like North Carolina and Florida that they're a bunch of bigots,” said consultant Frank Schubert, the strategist behind California's Proposition 8 and similar campaigns to bar gay unions in four states where marriage is on the ballot in November.
The National Organization for Marriage began airing radio ads last week in North Carolina, targeting religious African Americans.

Of course not -- this is all the doing of a very small, supremely selfish and evil little grievance-group determined to "push it 'til it breaks" in the belief that it'll never break.
Gays have tons of money, Obama needs tons of money. This is a straight-up tradeoff, money for a perverted platform. The movement gays are relying on their moles in Media -- no telling what the proportion of homosexuals in media is these days, but it's no doubt high enough to have set Fred Friendly's head spinning back in the day -- to bash their marks, us, into submission.
This action is consistent with the premise that leftists, liberals, and Democrats have disordered minds. It is also consistent with the foundational thesis that men and women are 100% interchangeable. That is also what feminism is all about. That is what same sex marriage is all about.
We are experiencing biblical times.

It’s so historic, North Carolinians rejected it.
Look at all the dictionaries of law foe the last 800 years.
They will define “marriage” as the union of one man and one woman.
Look at all the ecclesiastical writings of the last 1000 years.
They will define “marriage” as the union of one man and one woman.
Look at the samples of the best poetry and prose for the last 2000 years.
They will define “marriage” as the union of one man and one woman.
So call it whatever they want. Call it “queerage”. Call it whatever.
But trying to change language will never change whether or not it is “a social norm”.
And it will never be a social norm because it is not a biological, God given, scientific norm.
So much of the homosexual agenda makes me think that they are actually deep;y ashamed by their behavior.
Not really history. For much of the 6000 years of recored human history homosexuality was condoned by most culutures, ie greeks, romans, babylonians, persians, egyptians... It was Jews in the ancient world who condemned it (one reason they were hated so much) and then Christians. All we are doing is going back 2000 years when we accept this behavior.
I don’t think their “throwing the election,” which would imply willful disregard. They actually, stupidly think that the majority of people in the country are in favor of trashing marriage.
The DemocRat Party is simply lobotomized.
It’ll be nothing short of sin to vote for that platform and any of those candidates that endorse it!

The war on Christian values continues. They are not “throwing” the election they are waging total war on Judeo/Christian values. And they might just win, given the success of the Marxist indoctrination centers (public schools) in this country.
As they go down in flames, they feel they need to keep their ragtag coalition solid enough to fight with a relatively untainted communist banner in subsequent elections.
Don't let the Log Cabin Republicans persuade all the queers in their camp that this will have been about Barry's tax hikes for all us "rich" Americans , lack of effective job stimulation and fiscal-indebtedness nonsense, indenturing everyone's future!

Much (propaganda) has been made of our modern view of the ancients accepting homosexuality. However we ignore the context, the ancients did not believe woman to be the equal of man, women were viewed as being fit for child baring and little more, ergo, women were unworthy of a mans' love. Real love was between equals not the superior man and the inferior woman. But to them love did not equal sex. Sex was for man and woman, love was for man/man. A man could love another man and never have sex with him. At least that is my take on the ancient educated Greek view of the proper role of the sexes.

The left desperately want this country to become a homosexual Godless nation- We all know how well that turned out for some cities ion the past- but the left is too dimwhitted to learn from past mistakes- insisting God doesn’t view homosexuality as an ABOMINATION which He saida few times in His word- Apparently God’s own Word doesn’t even matter to the left who then turn around and insist they are ‘Christian’
