In January of this year President Obama announced a new military strategy that will cut the Pentagon budget by hundreds of billions of dollars over the next decade. The new strategy included $487 billion in cuts over the next decade.
But yesterday Barack Obama flew all the way to Ft. Bliss Texas to tell US troops that the defense cuts were not his fault.
Obama also took a shot at congressional Republicans who have taken to blaming him for military cuts embedded in last year’s deal to raise the debt ceiling. It is Congress, not he, Obama said, that is to blame for the $500 billion in looming Defense Department cuts if Congress fails to reach a deal.

Well, in a way this ain’t his “fault” since it came about with the help of the Republican Leadership in the House and Senate helping push through that crap of a bill last year.

Obama speech to soldiers met with silence

President Barack Obama was greeted with fleeting applause and extended periods of silence as he offered profuse praise to soldiers and their families during an Aug. 31 speech in Fort Bliss, Texas.
His praise for the soldiers — and for his own national-security policies — won cheers from only a small proportion of the soldiers and families in the cavernous aircraft-hangar.
The audience remains quiet even when the commander-in-chief thanked the soldiers’ families, and cited the 198 deaths of their comrades in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The audience’s reaction was so flat that the president tried twice to elicit a reaction from the crowd.
“Hey, I hear you,” he said amid silence.
The selected soldiers who were arrayed behind the president sat quietly throughout the speech.
CNN and MSNBC ended their coverage of the speech before it was half-over.

Funny how the Pres_ent Resident can’t seem to remember the power of the Executive Order at times like this. Eh, he wouldn’t want to circumvent the political process would he.
I do think it’s funny, that he thinks he’s going to pull the wool over these troops eyes.
November 6th, 2012 is barreling down on this guy and he knows it. Love it.

Let's take a wild guess.....
One has to ask oneself then, just what has hussein done? What, if anything, is he willing to stand up and take credit for? What is he proud of? What has he managed to accomplish? Considering the time he's had, the resources at his disposal, the money spent... The list should be long and impressive. If not, fire the {expletive} because he's obviously - by his own admission - completely ineffective at getting anything done.
Could he have vetoed the bill with the defense cuts??
He can do anything he wants - He is King Obama after all.
Democrats love it when he ignores law and the Constitution.
Republicans don't have the guts to do anything more than set up another committee.
Good point. Without looking up the vote, it would seem so. There may have been a super majority since this thing was absolving them all of any responsibility.
If he signed the bill, which he did, then it IS his fault. Had he not signed the bill it would not be in effect. Therefore, Mr. President, IT IS YOUR FAULT.

Your 100% Right! The GOPe,is fully onboard Obama’s and the dem’s agenda and collaborating in the destruction of our Country as founded and profitting off of it at the same time. The repubs could of stopped every last bit, of the major part’s of Obama’s agenda,but alway’s seem to find someone at the last second to push Obama’s legislation through: Olympia Snowe ( Obamacare ),Scott Brown Dodd/Frank,Tom Coburn ( The Food Safety and Modernization Act ),among other Bills.
As far as the defense cuts,the repubs have been as equally traitorous as the dems: During the 2010 ‘lame Duck session,the repubs,insanely voted for the,’Start 2 Treaty’,which reduced our nuclear deterrent force by 70%. All as terrorist nation’s are starting to get nuclear capability. The repubs easily could have defeated the Treaty,as it requires 60% of the senators present to ratify,yet once more the repubs pulled Obama’s ‘Fat out of the fire’. All of these actions are no coincidence. During the summer 2011 ‘Debt Ceiling’ fight the repubs once again moved to help Obama and the dems out,by agreeing to the creation of the un-constituitional,’Super Commitee’. This Comitee set in stone,that if the dems and repubs didn’t come to an agreement on cuts by Dec. 2011,then automatic and draconian cuts would occur to our Military. Guess what happened?... The dems and repubs couldn’t come to an agreement. Who would have thunk it? sarc. That Commitee was created by both Parties as a,”Smokesreen”,to cover-up their treasonous complicity in the destruction of our Military. John McCain,who last year during that,’Debt Ceiling fight said,”I have no problem with 800 billion dollars in cuts to the Defense Department”. Now he and the rest of the repubs,are giving us “Theatre”, as they decry the cuts to our Military,even though they are 50% responsible. Bleepheads!
