MSNBC host Chuck Todd asked the co-chair of the Democratic party's convention, L.A. mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, why there are more Republican women and Hispanic governors:

"Let me ask you though, this one question, why is it that the Republicans have elected more women governors and have two Hispanic governors and the Democrats don’t?," asked Todd. "Don’t have as many women governors and don’t have Hispanic governors, why do you think that is?"

In my own experience I had an opportunity to work on some elections in Kansas City. They have a so-called non-partisan city election process. In working with Democrats it I always chuckled to see them keep Democrats who happened to be black away from certain choice opportunities. I made it interesting when I was supporting a democrat who happened to be black because of how he was alligned with my business interests as opposed to the other candidates, also Dems outside of that election.

It was something I had some real fun with.
