Here are excerpts of the remarks Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney plans to deliver this evening in Tampa, Florida:
Four years ago, I know that many Americans felt a fresh excitement about the possibilities of a new president. That president was not the choice of our party but Americans always come together after elections. We are a good and generous people who are united by so much more than divides us.
When that hard fought election was over, when the yard signs came down and the television commercials finally came off the air, Americans were eager to go back to work, to live our lives the way Americans always have optimistic and positive and confident in the future.
That very optimism is uniquely American.
It is what brought us to America. We are a nation of immigrants. We are the children and grandchildren and great-grandchildren of the ones who wanted a better life, the driven ones, the ones who woke up at night hearing that voice telling them that life in that place called America could be better.
They came not just in pursuit of the riches of this world but for the richness of this life.

Every family in America wanted this to be a time when they could get ahead a little more, put aside a little more for college, do more for their elderly mom whos living alone now or give a little more to their church or charity.

Thanks a lot Newt for throwing the blocks that gave Romney the nomination. I knew Romney would blow it.
Better than what the Other Guy is outspokenly rooting for...
It wasn't just the Quorum of 70, but the Holy Prophet himself that gave Mitt permission and a go light, in a face to face meeting in 2005.
How much is the 0bama-Biden campaign paying you for this crap?
And presumably they (the earthly ones if not the spirit visitor) really leaned on Mitt to change his political tone to better match the official Mormon creed.
Well Mitt had better really soft pedal the Mormon angle during this final part of his campaign, unless he wants to get into a contest with Barack Obama as to how many people he can inspire to just sit home.
You are arguing with people who would actually like to see Obama in the WH for another 4 years.
let that sink in.
Then think what good will your words to them do?
Swaying readers and observers? Not so much. Anybody that is on this forum that still would rather have zero for pres for another four years, well, that speaks in and of itself, as to their creds, and where their brain actually dwells.
Nothing you say or do is going to change that, only raise your bp.
Than you.
Oh, OK! Go to sleep!
No, Mr. Willard, we are a nations of CITIZENS. Immigrant is just a stepping stone on the path to Citizenship, it's not supposed to be a permanent taxpayer-subsidized condition.
My mother's people came here to escape the Bolsheviks, not to live off the fat of the land. My grandmother's first English words were the Oath of Citizenship, not the oath of Immigration.
They came here to become Citizens, not for amnesty and free sh~!t.
Oh, OK! Go to sleep! Good night!

Well, thank God JimRob came around!
He has a brain. He weighed all the options, and came down with, for all things considered, what is in fact best for this country, not him, not you, this country.
I just hope he was correct in his decision.
The alternative certainly will not be, as a known fact, based on the last four years of real time hurt.
You have a source for all that? Preferably not a dedicated anti-Mormon site. I am honestly interested to read for myself and see if what you wrote it true. My impression is that he is a typical politician who uses his faith to get elected while being a functional atheist in practice. But I am willing to learn.
You got two choices, 0bama or Romney. Only one of those two candidates are going to be sworn in come January 2013.
Choose. "
AMEN! I have not seen Romney's speech yet, Rubio is on. (I'm about 30 min delayed) I predict a 10 plus point bounce for Romney. Eastwood was great!

Mitt’s speech: A whole lotta panderin’ goin’ on...
I didn’t listen to it, but I am willing to bet it was filled with politically correct platitudes.
Full of words and music signifying nothing.
I hear echos of Ross Perot in my ears. I sure showed them by supporting Perot. What a dumb thing to do. To back the wrong guy.
I don’t care about Romney this or Romney that. I just don’t care because Obama is so sinister.
I’d vote for Charlie Manson over Obama if it came down to that.
Nope. No thanks gang. I’ll not make the mistake I made with Perot and piss off my vote in the name of some stupid idea that involves higher ground or principle. Not this time. The end game is too important. Under no circumstances should Obama be re-elected. Nothing else matters.
Some people can sit on their high horses and be against Romney over whatever. They are sitting on a dead horse if they do. It just has not keeled over and died yet.
