I agree that there are many superior choices to speak at the RNC than Clint Eastwood.

I’m thinking Clint makes a ton of sense. As much as a lot of FRepers would like a conservative stalwart, it wouldn’t help sway undecided voters to Romney. So is the goal to fire up the base, or make Romney/Ryan more palitable to undecided voters? I think the latter. And everybody loves Clint.

That choice doesn’t inspire....well....anything. It needs to be someone we would never expect...a bright personality who will bring the audience to their feet.... Maybe Rush? ;)

If the clowns in charge of the convention have anything to do with it, it’ll be some boring old RINO has-been who nobody will pay attention to.

I like that choice. I’m betting it’s Clint Eastwood.

Chuck Norris? I can wish, cant I?Okay, he would be good. C. Eastwood isn't a very good speaker. How about Jon Voight? Joe Lieberman? Ronald Reagan's hologram would be funny.

Netanyahoo (sic?) would be awesome!
And, it would really stick it to Obama!

"it was included because they wanted to keep a slot open in case Bobby Jindal was able to attend. With Hurricane Isaac not doing much damage in Louisiana, I think that Jindal will be the one who speaks right before Marco Rubio."
Makes sense...makes good sense - Jindal and Rubio!

As much as a lot of FRepers would like a conservative stalwart, it wouldnt help sway undecided voters to Romney. So is the goal to fire up the base, or make Romney/Ryan more palatable to undecided voters? I think the latter. And everybody loves Clint. A mealy-mouth moderate would cool off the base and probably not sway many undecided voters. What we need are, in Ronald Reagan's words, bold colors, not pale pastels.
As to "everybody loves Clint," I loved him for "Dirty Harry," but his more recent "A Perfect World," a liberal film that was badly written and poorly made, almost made me quit going to movies.

I’m thinking Rush Limbaugh.
He’s not that far away, on the east coast of FL.

Oprah...and everyone will get a new, free car!
She was treated rather shabbily by the Obamas, especially by the First Wookie - after all the support she gave to get BO elected, under the bus she was thrown.
