I only saw Christie. I'm wondering if they made a conscious decision to throttle the whole thing down some. They know that the news coverage is going to be flipping back and forth between the convention and Isaac and to be over the top raucus may reflect badly on the proceedings.
I expect that more people than usual are tuning in to the news to follow the hurricane coverage, so the GOP has a chance to reach more people than would normally be tuning in to news during this time.
