~The FReeper Canteen Presents~

Road Trip: United States Army Research, Development and Engineering Command, Maryland

The U.S. Army Research, Development and Engineering Command is a major subordinate command of the Army Materiel Command, and is charged with "creating, integrating and delivering technology-enabled solutions to our Soldiers."

With its headquarters at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland, RDECOM scientists, engineers and researchers work at laboratories and research center across the nation and the globe. With more than 17,000 employees, RDECOM performs nearly all of the Army's basic and applied research and technology development.

The U.S. Army Research, Development and Engineering Command is the Army's technology leader and largest technology developer. RDECOM ensures the dominance of Army capabilities by creating, integrating and delivering technology-enabled solutions to our Soldiers.

To meet this commitment to the Army, RDECOM develops technologies in its eight major laboratories and research, development and engineering centers. It also integrates technologies developed in partnership with an extensive network of academic, industry, and international partners.

RDECOM provides the Army with an organic research and development capability. More than 17,000 Soldiers, civilian employees and direct contractors form this world-class team. As part of that team, there are 11,000 engineers and scientists, many of whom are the Army's leading experts in their fields.

A fundamental characteristic of this workforce is the focus on the Soldier. Whether providing technology solutions to meet current operational needs or developing break-through technologies for the next generation, RDECOM stands at the forefront of what the Soldier eats, wears, fires, flies or drives.

Are you ready for the Tuesday FR Canteen Road Trip?

Good morning, Everyone.

Good morning to our

military, our allies, and their families

Thank you, Lauren, for preparing the Canteen for today’s activities.
Hey, Aberdeen is right up the road from me. Guess I can ride the bike today.

DC Metroland Weather

~ Today...Mostly cloudy this morning...
Then becoming partly sunny.
Scattered showers. Highs in the upper 80s.
West winds 5 to 10 mph...
Becoming northwest with gusts up to 20 mph this afternoon.
Chance of rain 50 percent.

~ Tonight...Mostly clear.
Lows in the mid 60s.
Northwest winds around 5 mph.

Drive-by post. Lurker mode today.
Still busy as a honeybee.

I apologize to all the pingers I didn't get a chance to respond to yesterday.
I'll try to get to you first thing today.
Please stay.
Grab a cup of joe or tasty tea.

The FR Canteen is ALWAYS

Come on in and sit for a while.
There's always plenty of coffee, tea, pancakes,
conversation, silliness,
and plain old BS

Going OK here. I went ahead and set up an appointment with the Ford dealer for my 35,000 mile checkup.

I'm going to go up there on Friday.

Bo and I had another great time out at the lake yesterday. My sister also came down for a brief visit. She also visited my aunt and uncle across town.
