A new poll shows that support for Rep. Todd Akin’s (R-Mo.) Senate candidacy has sharply declined since he remarked in an interview broadcast Sunday that “legitimate rape” rarely causes pregnancy. Akin now trails Sen. Claire McCaskill (D) 50 percent to 41 percent in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch/News 4 poll, which showed him leading the Democrat by 5 points in late July...

don't bother

this is the same poster crowds that hated everyone who could have defeat Obama in the primaries and advised everyone to
sit out the Gov race between Meg Whitman and Brown. Now the Ca GOP was killed off by Dem party redistricting plan that could have been blocked but wasn't by a GOP Governor.

But at least Harris was a beauty!

What’s to check. We had that seat won but threw support behind O’Donnell and she lost. Yes, it would have meant a moderate Republican instead of a pure conservative, but that’s better than a 100% liberal that we got because the Democrat won.

I really hope this stupid toad in human form drops out and lets an unsullied candidate with more intelligence run in his place.
This bloated toad is ruining our chances to recover the Senate and even threatening Romney’s prospects in Missouri.

The fact that that other bloated Toad, Huckabee, the man who helped get McCain nominated in 2008, is defending this jerk Akin should speak volumes about Akin unsuitability.

“Angle in Nevada, O’Donnell in Delaware, Akin in Missouri. And before that was Katherine Harris..”

And, each one better than the person they lost to.

Get them in the next primary, but, don't go over to the dark side.

Well, if his fellow Republicans are ditching him, what can we expect from the 'independents'? The Democrats were certainly never going to vote for him. And consider this, what if he'd used the term 'forcible' rape, which I think is what he actually meant to say.

Sure, he should have just stopped while he was ahead, and never even mentioned the issue, but he did. Now folks in MO can either let it go and vote for him, anyway, or let Claire McCaskill return to the Senate, voting like Obama every time she casts a vote.

Agree it is best that he go and go NOW...but if he doesn’t I wouldn’t be so willing to throw this race to Claire without a fight.... hammer her hard with her votes for Obama care, increased spending and the rest until the electorate realizes she is more dangerous that the mis-spoken Mr. Akin.
If the Dems can pull a Toricelli to Lautenburg transfer no reason the Missourians can’t recover from this blunder. Who can take his place with better chance? A squishy old moderate like Bond?

“Not surprising, we’ve ripped defeat out from the jaws of victory often the last few years. Angle in Nevada, O’Donnell in Connecticut, Akin in Missouri.”

And don’t forget that Tea Party favorite fool Ken Buck in Colorado in 2010. We were a lock to gain a senate seat there due to a very weak Rat candidate and a very divisive Rat primary. But Buck stuck his size 12 cowboy boots in his yap at every chance, and the minute they were yanked out, they snapped right back in each and every time and pretty much stayed there the entire campaign. The man is basically an idiot.

I don’t know how you trolls remain here with such obvious anti-GOP flatulence. Anyone with half a lick of horse sense knows the stinking rats want him in so the rat will win.

Maybe the zot button is broken.

This new poll is consistent with those from both PPP & Rasmussen and yet you cry out it's all evil media lies and a GOPe conspiracy.

If I believed in unicorns, I might believe Akin could win too.

It seems that Conservatives have a penchant for trying to install “far right” folks, because they are like preachers selling virtue. The more right, the more “virtuous.” Take Ron Paul. Hard to argue about most of his positions, but the sad fact of the matter is that he hasn’t ever passed any significant legislation, so tell me just what good does he do? There are a lot of “right thinking” people in the Congress who do get valuable stuff done, and there are a lot more who claim to be Republicans who’ve done a lot of damage. Sharron Angle was a scourge in the Nevada State Legislature. An unbending person who wanted it all her way or nothing! Now that may appeal to the far right, but it doesn’t get the country anywhere. Conservatives need to run people who are electable. The people you mention are/were unelectable and yet the looney tunes who put them up and supported them, would do it all over again even knowing that they don’t have a snowball’s chance in hell of getting them elected! In that respect, they are no different that the looney left. Every time the looney left gets enough power, they go about their business trying to do the same stuff that didn’t work the last time the country entrusted its business to them. The only difference I can see is that the looney right never gets the chance because nothing in their platform includes a free lunch.

My impression was Harris lost because she was seen as a villain in Bush vs Gore.

Now really, what sane person is going to say something as stupid as democrats want akin out of the race other than a democrat troll?

Nobody other than a troll would assist democrats in their goal to defeat Republicans.
