Ron Paul on Romney: ‘I don’t fully endorse him for president’
Yahoo ^ | 8/26/2012 | Chris Moody

TAMPA -- Mitt Romney's presidential campaign gave Texas Rep. Ron Paul a chance to speak at the Republican National Convention, but he declined due to the conditions of the offer, the New York Times reports:

Mr. Paul, in an interview, said convention planners had offered him an opportunity to speak under two conditions: that he deliver remarks vetted by the Romney campaign, and that he give a full-fledged endorsement of Mr. Romney. He declined.

"It wouldn't be my speech," Mr. Paul said. "That would undo everything I've done in the last 30 years. I don't fully endorse him for president."

I do feel Ron Paul thought he was going to get some kind of position in a Romney administration and that’s why he never criticized Romney during the debates. Years ago I liked the old man but lost all use for him when he shamelessly attacked Newt Gingrich for not serving in the military. Standing right beside Gingrich was Romney, who also did not serve in the military. Newt was in college and had two young daughters and was a little too old to get drafted in the first place. Not so for Romney. He was the prime age in 1967-68 for the draft. His rich influential father got him out of the draft, and even went as far as calling him a minister of the morman faith. Romney takes off for France and lived the majority of the time in a castle. No one in the Romney family has ever served their country in the military. Not his great grandparents, his grandparents, his father, and now not a one of his sons. Serving the Morman Church takes top priority over serving their country. It’s that way for the vast majority of Mormans, especially the rich ones. The more they give to the church the quicker they get to that paradise in the sky. Anyway Paul gave Romney a pass on not serving in the military and didn’t say word to Mitt Romney about not serving. I’ll never forget it. Romney might be elected president but I will never have any use for this New England pro-abort, pro-homo marriage liberal. I just hope the republican party will not turn into democrat-lite if Romney is elected.

Yes, that spoke VOLUMES. Romney had the media and money and all the liberal accomplishments and he attacked Newt unjustly? They can 'pretend' all they want with whatever they say now. They must think they 'pulled it off' on those dumb Americans!

” R Congress will oppose much of what a Romney admin proposes, should we? They seem to barely be able to muster opposition the current WH occupant.”

Really - you do realize how many bills the R congress forwarded to the Senate (Harry) only to have them die.

you need to read something other than the funny papers.

“It might be as simple as a shrewd businessman opening the books, recognizing the problems, bringing them to attention, developing a plan of action, and saying, “make it happen!””
RE: RaisingCain
Mitt Romney made universal healthcare in MA happen, along with over 400 million in fees and “non-tax” increases, which put MA in the bottom 3 of business growth in the nation.

If he doesn't significantly roll back AHO(Obamacare), the large majority of those who have voted for him will--not just dissapointed--but sold out to!

This issue is not with healthcare, it is with freedom. This "healthcare" plan is a subtle maneuver to reduce our constitutional rights to a pile of rubble.

The issue at hand is a conservative opposition to big government supported by a GOP-e controlled executive branch.

Examples of Republican support for big government would include No Child Left Behind, Medicare Part D (the prescription drug plan) and funding Planned Parenthood. Honorable mention should go to the Patriot Act (as I understand it now, originally Joe Biden’s brainchild!!), which can in theory be used against just about anyone including conservative activists. Alleged conservative R’s refer to votes for such legislation as “supporting the team” (see: Santorum).

I would not put forth the Boehner Congress as an example of principled conservative resistance to big government, even when dealing with the current occupant of the WH. After all, Boehner has recently agreed to fund Obamacare, he capitulated on raising the debt ceiling, he has shown very little motivation in prosecuting the AG for contempt of Congress in the Fast and Furious (ie. the gun control inside job), and he allowed the most recent NDAA to pass (legislation which both Romney and Obama support).

And you are convinced that this same Congress will stand up to Romney, when (not if) he proposes more of the same??

“....Congress will stand up to Romney, when (not if) he proposes more of the same”

I think Ryan will.... and I don’t think Romney will propose additional programs without cutting the liberal and expensive policies we have today. Obama tacked way to left for the country.... if Romney tacks way to right we will be doing this again. I think the country is center right like the polls show - Romney will be right, no doubt, striking and articulating the balance through the media noise is the hard part.

I do believe that the media will tout his new programs and not the ones he will be cutting or vice versa.

That’s hilarious! Like being a little bit pregnant.

So, what fraction of my vote should I give Romney? Enough to get him elected or not enough?

Ron, if you were president and we were attacked by another country, would you declare partial war on them?

Romney is full of crap. TJE issue is that we can have more influence on him seeking re-election than a Obama junta not accountable to the voters.

There is zero historical precedent (that I am aware of) for a Republican administration actually reversing any big government program enacted by the Democrats (or vice versa). The only way Obamacare is stopped is if individual States refuse to enact Obamacare.

Do you support the individual States refusing to enact Obamacare, or refusing to enact any similar unconstitutional health care program proposed by a Romney administration?

Do you think will Romney refuse to enact any legislation that is clearly unconstitutional (Article 1 Section 8)? Or will he ignore his oath of office?

“The issue is that we can have more influence on him seeking re-election”

Except that, as was mentioned earlier, the Romney RNC seems to be executing a complete takeover of the party, and has made rule changes to ensure that no grass roots conservatives, constitutionalists, Tea Party members etc. will ever have any say whatsoever over the direction of the party in the future.

For example, the delegate process looks to be morphing into a rubber stamp for party insiders instead of grassroots representatives.

My reading of the RNC’s new rule has it that all delegates will be bound to the results of the beauty contest/straw poll (the part that is most dependent on money/media access and MOST open to manipulation/fraud) and that the straw poll winner gets veto power over the delegate selection (the part that is currently LEAST open to manipulation/fraud).

But he can win and stopping Obama is the only hope for our Republic.

Why do so MANY on FR sound like the whiny Elijah?

1 Kings 19:9-15

And the word of the LORD came to him: “What are you doing here, Elijah?”

10 He replied, “I have been very zealous for the LORD God Almighty. The Israelites have rejected your covenant, torn down your altars, and put your prophets to death with the sword. I am the only one left, and now they are trying to kill me too.”

11 The LORD said, “Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the LORD, for the LORD is about to pass by.”

Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the LORD, but the LORD was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the LORD was not in the earthquake. 12 After the earthquake came a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper. 13 When Elijah heard it, he pulled his cloak over his face and went out and stood at the mouth of the cave.

Then a voice said to him, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”

14 He replied, “I have been very zealous for the LORD God Almighty. The Israelites have rejected your covenant, torn down your altars, and put your prophets to death with the sword. I am the only one left, and now they are trying to kill me too.”

15 The LORD said to him, “Go back the way you came, and go to the Desert of Damascus. When you get there, anoint Hazael king over Aram.

Elijah had his talking points DOWN!

Many people will be voting AGAINST Obama, but that doesn't mean the same thing as voting for Romney.

It may not MEAN the same, to you, but it will RESULT in the same.

I'm sorry; but there is NO way to vote AGAINST someone on a ballot.

EVERY vote will be FOR someone.

So; you can vote for a deceived (or deceiving) MORMON or an outted Marxist/Muslim(?) for president.

Or; you could see if there is ANYONE else on the ballot!
