A judge on Thursday ordered the release of a former Marine who was detained for psychiatric evaluation after posting strident anti-government messages on Facebook. Prince George County Circuit Judge W. Allan Sharrett said at the end of a one-hour hearing that the involuntary commitment order issued by a magistrate against Brandon J. Raub was invalid because it contained no allegation or basis to hold him, according to the head of a civil liberties organization that represented the 26-year-old veteran.

Sounds like a UN party.

Sounds just like the Black Liberation Theory guys...you know..."Holder's People"
One wonders if the same reaction could be had, getting involuntarily committed, quoting Thomas Jefferson. Only without the quote listing. Just to see how much our "health/police" matrix can protect us from ourselves. Safe to say the said "mental health professional" is doubtless not a rap fan.... but they could also not be very well read in US history.
Paging Felix Dzerzhinsky!! Counter-revolutionary verbage detected!
Thank you dr.icwhatudo. I see you, too!! And uh, maybe one out of three ain’t wrong— the CFR does want ID chips, since they work so well in pet tracking.
Yep, just like the FBI provided the light show special effects to David Koresh’s apocolyptic rantings. The FBI made themselves more terrifying to the mothers of the children in that compound than Koresh was. That is, IMHO why so many chose to stay and be incinerated rather than make a run for it with their children.
Thus physically proving to a nominally paranoid, that indeed even paranoids have enemies. This is a jello regime.
“sadly, he still loses his right to bear arms. When one is involuntarily committed, atleastin my state, one immediately and permenently lose the right to bear arms. The final outcome does not matter.”
Not always true, and those rights can be restored on appeal. In this case, you had something like what was routine in the USSR happen to this man. Justices on both sides of the ideological aisle are likely to side with the Marine in this case.
Still, its an object lesson for anyone serious enough about truly organizing any kind of rebellion - you have to go analog - and no paper trail.
There was a military exercise performed in the years around 2004-2005 that had a modern US garrisoned fake town assaulted by a group of insurgents. The insurgents used motorcycle messengers and other types of visual signal communications, while the US had they’re encrypted, satellite based comms.
The insurgents successfully defeated the US Army because it was extremely difficult to intercept and prepare against a well coordinated attack in medium-sized force not susceptible to elint.
Had scrolled up to your post and thought I was reading a Glenn Beck transcript, until I saw the facebook html. In any case there are literally hundreds of thousands of people who think and say these things, and have a forum to do so. Until there is some real factual action to confirm it (like buying 500lbs of (NH4)(NO3)and not being a farmer), to be held in a psych unit on the basis of “complaints from parties unidentified” on the rec. of an anonymous “mental health professional”- certainly is wrong.
While it may be in public records, it would help to know his service record and discharge category.
And willing to be there is a secret back story to this that Secret Service and FBI will not divulge-- a sort of domestic "rendering".
Meanwhile, a muslim murderer of US Army personnel who is still on full pay, is allowed to keep his muslim beard, despite Army regs not allowing it-- so he can play the world media. Sick
Hey PapaBear3625,
Don’t know what corner of Pa you are in?
If it is country, is it in an escape corridor from a major city?
I live 15 miles west of Port St. Lucie Fl. So? So if pooh hits the fan the vermin from Fort Lauderdale and Miami are coming my way to scavange.
Axe sharponed? Oh yeah.
And if you are in an escape corridor you may think of getting prepared too. If in a large city like Pittsburgh or Philadelphia, get out while you still can.
Just a suggestion.
Thanks for reminding me I'm an old fart 8-) I never heard of the phrase. Perhaps the person(s) reporting him were not part of the rap generation either.
“willing to be” = “willing to bet” . Sorry typer here.
If he had said “heads are gonna roll in accordance with my Muslim religion” they wouldn’t have touched him with a 10 foot pole. That quirky politically correct speech can cut both ways. (Oops I said cut, hope they don’t come get me.)
Exactly. I hope he voluntarily gets any help he might need getting his head together. We might need him when the real shtf....lol.
My concern is that they start committing guys like this who are kind of on the edge. (Note: I listened to his radio interview and he sounded perfectly normal, in fact more rational than most people. His postings look a little dodgy, though.) Then they escalate to anyone who does not agree with their politics, like Freepers.
What is so ironic is that there are plenty of mentally ill homeless people running around loose in the streets. It was the liberals who insisted on freeing them from institutions. Many of them are dangerous. Some because they are violent, others because they don’t have the sense not to step out into traffic.

States I know of are not accepting appeals, very low priority. Consider it a deprivation that will not easily if ever be righted.
The order was invalidated by court order. He is free to own firearms.

In our state one loses the right to bear arms when the blue paper is taken out, not whether or not it is validated or not. That’s right, any clown, in any ER can initiate incompetency papers and you lose your rights. There is a theoretical appeal, but the government has said it is low priority
