Sarah Palin Calls For 3rd Party Run In MO

Posted on 08/21/2012 7:36:25 PM PDT by PhxTM06

Live on Greta. "We cannot quash this opportunity in Missouri!"

She's more fired up than I've seen her in awhile, looks like she's ready to get up and start throwing stuff around the studio.

And a yellow-bellied RINO......although I’m sure UncleSlayton will be along shortly to say exactly just that.

Akin is going nowhere. If nothing is done, MO is a sure loss. A third party movement is better than nothing, but the best move is to let things cools off in MO and move on to greener pastures.
Getting behind a goof like Akin will only reinforce the narrative that conservatives are hayseed idiots. Akin is politically radioactive, and anyone that works on his campaign will tarnished.

Wouldn’t it be great if somehow Sarah Palin were to move to Missouri and run for the seat herself..wait is that possible..Ok I assume you have to be a resident of the state to actually run there.

Alan Keyes is waiting for a phone call.

Steelman is ineligible due to “sore loser” law. It would have to be someone who wasn’t involved in the Republican primary.

I assume you meant that for the other person..
To answer that guys question of course Sarah will NOT support Ron Paul in a 3rd party race..can’t compare running for President with a Senate Seat..and besides that Ron Paul is a goofball

“Is this it?
Will Palin found a viable Conservative Party?
Is this the birth of the new “Conserve America” Political Party?
Will this party run a suite of Candidates in 2014 in other States?”

Death wish. I think the Tea Party has done just fine in its takeover of the Republican Party. In this case they got such a solid conservative that he never bothered to realize that he even needed votes from people who were not conservatives (although, I’m sure, he realizes that now).

Sarah’s been playing this perfect, and in this case will hopefully get us the seat in Missouri - there’s still a chance.

Missouri is a lost cause.

Akin had the entire GOP establishment, and the most influential talking heads (Coulter, Malkin, Limbaugh, Levin, Hannity) - two groups usually not on same page - telling him to leave. Not to mention threats of no cash from the Crossroads, RNC, etc. And he still stayed in.

This guy cannot be reasoned with. He’s doing God’s work. In his demented mind.

So then there’s nothing to lose with a 3rd party run and as mentioned by another poster, a 3rd party candidate can provide cover for Ryan and Romney to campaign in the state without having to get anywhere near Akin.

Bad call, Sarah. Think she’s too eager to milk her “I told you so” moment, as well-deserved as it might be. Or maybe get some kind of karmic revenge for what happened with Murkowski in Alaska? This GOP rift is nothing but a distraction that the media and the Dems will feed off of. We need to be united as a party if we’re going to form a united front against Obama and win. The time for infighting is over.

Steelman was endorsed by MO right to Life as well as 51 state reps..dont know why she isn’t so popular there(Since I dont live there not very familiar with her) but if not Steelman, who else? Since you live there who do you think would stand a chance of winning? Whoever it is they have my full support

Yep, Steelman is excluded. It would have to be someone exciting, with name-recognition. Kit Bond comes to mind because Missouri voters know him, but Ann Wagner is another possibility. She’s brilliant, strong pro-life record, highly intelligent and charismatic. I would back her in a second.

My personal opinion is Ann Wagner if she is interested. I am sick of the JonStewart media asking male candidates their opinion of 'legitimate rape'.... I dare them to ask that of a female. I am equally repulsed by Claire giggling all the way to election victory.

The TEA Party did well in 2010 by sending 89 new members to Congress. The RINOs ignored them.

Romney/Ryan are RINOs who will also ignore the TEA Party for the next 8 years.

Akin was voted in by Democrats crossing over in the Primary to vote in the weakest Republican of the 3 Candidates.

The key to success in the battle against the libs in “both” political parties is to recruit great Candidates, something the RINO Party has a sorry history of doing.

I don’t think Steelman can even run as third party anyway. It is against the rules. palin probably doesn’t realize that. Greta forced her hand to say Steelman in the third party slot anyway. It wasn’t something SP came out with on her own on the interview.

That all makes sense, although it’s possible that Ryan might pull Romney a bit our way...but probably not much (at all). We definitely need good candidate and we have to end this OPEN PRIMARY crap once and for all.

Two names, and probably only as replacements on the ballot (not as write-ins): Ann Wagner or Kit Bond. Bond could possibly win as a write-in, but only if the stars aligned just so, i.e., if Akin went down to about 5% support.

If Akin stays on the ballot, and there is no write-in, I see his ceiling now in the 40-46% range. (It could go lower.)

Not really, Akin doesn’t have a shot in hell, why not try something else. The biggest benefit of this, as mentioned is giving someone for Romney and Ryan to appear with at campaign events, for obvious reasons they shouldn’t be anywhere within a 50 mile radius of Akin at this point.
