Live on Greta. "We cannot quash this opportunity in Missouri!"
She's more fired up than I've seen her in awhile, looks like she's ready to get up and start throwing stuff around the studio.
WOW what an interview..SHE WAS PISSED..and rightfully so, she doesn’t want the GOP to lose that critical Senate seat..she called for a 3rd party vote, the problem with that is if Akin and let’s say Steelman split the vote doesn’t McCaskill win anyway?
Countdown to the first, “Palin is a RINO quisling scum-sucking liberal weak sister pansy traitor!!” comment...
Just saw her and I agree! She is fired up. Go Sarah Go!!!
Yes, a good chance that would split the vote letting McCaskill win.
Well she could put up residence in MO for the next few months and campaign like hell for whomever is the candidate. Make it the tea party’s main mission this fall.
I wonder how many Akin supporters like Sarah?
Yep. The only way the 3rd party strategy works is if Akin is completely marginalized and eviscerated publicly by the GOP. This would require Romney/Ryan to stand with the 3rd party candidate, not to mention support from Palin and other conservative heavy-hitters, letting Missouri conservatives get on board, leaving Akin with the typical meager 3rd party support.
Missouri has a sore loser law...she can’t run 3rd party.
If she can get everyone on board they can pull this off. His money is gone and he will be an empty suit. She can whip up the base like no one else can. Why let that dim wit McCasky walk back in without a fight. She thinks its hers now anyway. Worth a shot!
Yep, Steelman is excluded. It would have to be someone exciting, with name-recognition. Kit Bond comes to mind because Missouri voters know him, but Ann Wagner is another possibility. She’s brilliant, strong pro-life record, highly intelligent and charismatic. I would back her in a second.
I think this is part of the pressure to get this man to drop out. A third party ticket would split the republican vote and guarantee a McCaskill win. However, if anyone could pull it off successfully, it would be our Sarah. Hopefully Akin will take what she said to heart.
Yeah I could only see it working if somehow the majority of Akin supporters wrote in someone else, sort of like what happened in Alaska with Murkowski but that is very rare, so even though I totally understand what Sarah is saying it’s not going to work
“Countdown to the first, Palin is a RINO quisling scum-sucking liberal weak sister pansy traitor!! comment...”
Oh my God, what a quitter!!! Atkin’s plan was working perfect - look like an idiot, get 40% of the vote, and then blame the Republicans for not supporting him.
...and Sarah has to mess the whole thing up.
It’s pretty much a loss right now....no matter what happens. There’s little doubt that Akin was used from the start, and he probably didn’t realize how poorly he was prepared by the staff around him. The question in this interview? I’m guessing that it was a planted question and this guy was trained to answer a certain way.
A third-party person at this point? At best...they might pull thirty percent of the vote. Course, here’s an odd scenario...let’s say seven days out from the election....Akin suddenly announces he will pull out and wants all his voters to push toward the third-party person. In this scenario....they just might get within three percentage points of the Democratic candidate. It would throw a huge dynamic into the race for the final seven days.
A Steelman third-party run would absolutely guarantee a McCaskill victory. Dumb idea.
It depends how far down Akin has gone, in the next few days hopefully a poll will be released to see how far he has sunk..if he has sunk to the point of no return maybe a 3rd party candidate would be the best bet. Really have nothing to lose at this point
Everyone has worked so hard and so much is on the line I can not believe this Guy he loses if he stays in.
Who knows if he gets out he could be OK
For 3rd Party to have a chance, it will have to be a very well known person, like Kit Bond.
I know the Idealists will whine, because they’ll wind up with someone that supports the base only 95% of the time (i.e., Bond), rather than lose with someone that supports the base 100% of the time (i.e., Akin).
