Gay Boy Scouts or Fake Duke LaCrosse Rapes: I Choose Conservative Christian Akins over Romney
Self | 24 Aug 12 | Xzins

Posted on 08/21/2012 7:08:56 PM PDT by xzins

Oh how soon we forget!

Sean Hannity was in the lead on the story throughout. False accusations of rape against Duke Lacrosse players made headline news. Then we learned she was pregnant. Now disbarred District Attorney Michael Nifong withheld crucial DNA evidence that proved not one of the accused had been with the accuser sexually. Subsequent DNA tests demonstrated that there would be no paternity liability on the part of any of them. She was not impregnated during her fake rape. Apparently, that happened later at her discretion.

In short, it was not a LEGITIMATE rape. In fact, it was so illegitimate that the DA lost his reputation, his office, his license, and his career.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, Mitt Romney has gone on record continuing his support of a gay boy scout organization. This, of course -- continuing our sports theme -- is a triple double. Romney needed something to fit snugly between his past and present support for a gay military and gay adoption by gay couples.

Firestorm?

Nah, Romney’s homosexualism was just “fine and dandy AOK.” After all it wasn't in defense of innocent life as was Representative Todd Akins' comment that there's a difference between fake rape and legitimate rape. (See Lacrosse example above.) Also, Akins had the temerity to suggest that a receptive female partner in a willing relationship is more likely to become pregnant than is a violently assaulted woman. There is a certain hopeful logic to that whether or not one knows that violent rape does result in pregnancy.

More to the point is Akins' intent. If there were mistakes made in a rush of words, were they mistakes of the head or mistakes of the heart?

This consistently life-affirming, conservative Christian legislator has huge conservative ratings with the American Conservative Union. A graduate of Covenant Theological Seminary in St Louis, a school renowned as a bastion of traditional, bible-believing Christianity, Representative Akins earned a Master of Divinity. It is rare for one to pursue a Master of Divinity without some sense of divine calling. After all, it is the preparatory degree for ordained ministry. Also, it is among the lengthiest of masters degrees, requiring over 90 semester hours for completion when most others are in the 35-40 hour range. Finally, Akins was only addressing the subject because he was trying to make a pro-life point about saving the life of a baby resulting from rape.

Of course, this is circumstantial evidence about the intent of Representative Akins' heart. In any case, he was advocating immoral behavior as is Mitt Romney’s homosexualism.

So, if I was given the chance to replace one and keep the other....I'd be showing Boy Scout Mitt the door.

I’m trying to figure out how anyone who claims to be ABO (Anybody But Obama) in order to favor a liberal like Romney could possibly have any trouble being ABM (Anybody But McCaskill) in order to favor a conservative like Akins.

The conservative Akins is far more deserving of support than the liberal Romney.

I hope you enjoy four more years of Obama. Shouldn’t matter, since Obama is “a difference that is not a difference”. And thanks to you and your ilk for your role in the Obaminization of America.

I heard Sarah Palin on FOX this morning saying that there may be a third party backing the other Republican who lost the nomination to him and that he should definitely quit the Missouri Senate race.

I will only vote for
congressional candidates this year. I have serious intestinal problems pulling the lever for either presidential candidate. I don’t think Romney would nominate any different Supreme Court Judge than would Obama.

The whole concept of legitimate rape as it stands in his mind creates the specter of reasonable doubt. He can’t double back and say punish the rapist if it’s not really rape.

Because Romney can run on the real issues of the campaign, while Akin will be forced to provide regurgitations on 'legitimate rape' for the next 70+ days instead of the real issues. DUH!

You have got to be a n00b troll. No conservative is this stupid!

Yes, a lot of women claim “rape” when in fact their sexual activity was consensual. Those women — and not Akin — are to blame for “the specter of reasonable doubt.”

Don’t kill the messenger. Attack instead the instigators.

So, are you pro-McCaskill or pro-Akin?

You’ve got to choose one or the other. There are no other candidates in the race.

Actually, homosexualism was a term coined a number of years back by a regular on the religion forum.

No. 'Homosexualism' is a proper word.

'Homosexualist' is listed by Wiktionary as an alternative to the term 'homosexual', referencing the Oxford English Dictionary, and giving usage examples as early as '49... albeit that the term smells a bit arcane. It's use is legitimate in any case, as an 'ist' is generally a practitioner of an 'ism'... True enough that 'ist' is used as a bolt-on component even where the word proper does not exist, conveying the thought of a single practitioner of a thing.

And it is in popular use, as can be seen by plugging the word into a search engine. No doubt it's popular use predates FR.

Both are words, both are found in abundance upon the web.

caver's comment holds no merit, even if withholding it's vituperation.

No, your reply was the stupid one. The main issue Romney has chosen to run on is the issue of not releasing his tax returns. He’s putting his selfish desires over the needs of the party by letting the Democrats and the media spend all their time talking about that non-issue to everyone but Romney. Hence he’s remained permanently mired 4 points behind Obama in national polls.

There are no other candidates in the race.

Nice. This is true ONLY BECAUSE Clod Akin placed himself above Country yesterday. I'm anti-McCaskill and trying to figure out the best way to defeat her.

I'll concede third party is a losing option, but I'm still gonna vent (like Mark Levin goes nuclear) about Clod some more on this conservative website.

I guess we disagree. If I lived in Missouri, I'd vote for Akin without any reservations whatsoever. I know what he meant. I know that he is opposed to abortion without exception. He should not have placed the word "legitimate" so close to the word "rape." I know that and he knows that. His clumsy moment should not define his life. In the end, it will not define his campaign.

Hopefully, as you mature, you're going to learn that calling other people "stupid" is not going to win you much admiration or respect.

Thanks for the info, roamer.

My sense is that “homosexualism” now substitutes as a synonyn for “gay agenda.” Homosexualism, as with communism, is advocacy of a particular philosphy.

The charges were dropped, not just because there was no evidence, LC, but because there was exculpatory evidence. The DNA evidence clearly belonged to none of the Duke LaCrosse players.

The same FReepers who are trying to push pro life Aiken out are over here making excuses for Scott Brown saying we should bring more of the “good” abortion supporters into the big tent.

I would agree with your impression. And if we are mistaken in the use of the term, it is understandable, as in philosophy (religion and politics included) the 'ism' holds the aggregate of similar factions (Conservatism, Dispensationalism, etc) which becomes something approaching identity, with mores, standards, and motives included - So lumping all things 'homosexual' under the banner of 'homosexualism' would be a fairly natural thing to do.
