NEW YORK (Reuters) - Authorities were investigating as a possible hate crime the discovery of uncooked bacon scattered on the grounds of a New York City park where Muslims gathered to celebrate the end of the Islamic holy month of Ramadan, police said on Monday.
Festivities to mark the close of Ramadan, when Muslims fast from dawn to dusk, on Sunday had been publicized in local media and drew 1,500 participants to New Dorp Beach Park on Staten Island, said Cyrus McGoldrick, spokesman for the New York chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations.
Organizers found uncooked bacon strewn about a small section of the park, New York City police said.
Religious restrictions prohibit Muslims from eating pork products.
"It's being investigated as a possible bias crime," a police spokeswoman said.

With even less effort you could do better.
Hormel makes Bacon Bits, a topping for salads. These are bacon pieces cut into very small (1/8 by 1/8”) cubes. It’s in the salad dressing section of your supermarket and is in small plastic bags.
Dump a couple of bags of that into the mixer. It’s such a small amount it won’t affect the strength of the concrete, and it will be part of the muslim project forever.
Hate crime? What was the crime?
The crime was wasting bacon by throwing it on the ground.
In the 60s my father was working for the federal bureau of prisons. One of the inmates that worked for him, who was an orthodox Jew, came down from lunch and recommended the ham. When my father raised his eyebrows and looked ask-inst of him he responded with “it’s OK I blessed it before I ate.
Now we know why he* was in prison. ;^)

As it turns out Jews in prison or the military or anywhere difficult to remain kosher can bless the food and eat even of tresh. I think tresh is the correct word. I learned this many years later.
