COMMENTS: Here is the real problem. My own investigation reveals the following:
1 - one night he was drunk and partying with young women; he drove off a bridge, ran away like a coward, did not get help for 8 hours, and let the young woman die in an air pocket in 6 feet of water
2 - at a conference, he brutally bit and raped a nursing home operator and told her to put ice on it
3 - in his office, he assaulted a woman pleading for a job whose husband had just died
4 - on Easter Sunday, he showed off his Bible for photo ops in the morning, then got a BJ from an intern in his office right after church
5 - he exposed himself to a woman brought to his hotel room by troopers and told her to kiss it
6 - he gave government jobs in exchange for sex
7 - he had thugs slash a woman's tires, kill her cat, and threaten the lives of her children if she testified in a sexual harassment case
8 - he and his brother had sex and cocaine parties with underage girls
9 - behind the scenes, his evil satanic wife threatened women who might come forward and cause him grief

I would have gladly supported his opponent if she won the primary and made the same gaffe. This issue isn't about Akin as a man, it's about the issue...cowardly Republicans throwing Christian conservatives under the bus through any opening they can find because they either like the status quo on legal abortion or they believe "pro-life" is a losing issue and won't fight for it. Screw the RINOs. I support Akin for believing the right thing, I don't dump him because he used one wrong word and quickly apologized.
Dude in Arkansas made a similar comment in 1998. He lost 58-42 in what was supposed to be a close race.
And I don't know for a fact how bad it is but there is no time to poll it to see, the deadline after which he cannot be replaced is TOMORROW. Based from everyone reactions at BEST it would be a 50/50 at worst he'd have no chance at all.
McCrapskull is unpopular. A Republican that doesn't shoot himself in the foot beats her, period. The Senate majority is not something to trifle with.

Yes, that cuts to the nub of the matter right there. He is running for the Senate. I would hope he would have worked out how he would respond to these matters in advance (maybe have some sort of voting record to point at?), and it's apparent from his babbling about it ever since he had not done so. Something better than what Whoopi Goldberg would come up with.
And when Ryan is pressed for his opinion on abortion in the case of rape, what would you like him to say?
I'm sure Paul Ryan can handle himself, so let's see how he responds. Thanks to the goof Akin, he is sure to be asked now, and not in a straightforward kind of question. "You're on record, Congressman, as being against abortion even in the case of rape. Don't you agree with your Missouri colleague that a woman can't get pregnant from being raped because her reproductive system seizes up like a 72 small-block eight Chevy with a blown oil pump?"
This is how a "local" deal like this can screw up the rest of the country.
It's about power for a purpose, not power for power's sake.
Republicans want to repeal Obamacare, and need a solid majority in the Senate to do so. That is the purpose.

Taking out McCaskill will be more difficult given the way the GOP treats one of its own. Akin's supporters who carried him to victory in the primaries may not be happy with being disenfrancised. The GOP could have handled this much better instead of joining the herd to demonize this guy. It is disgusting really.

We have a right to say he must go, because the outcome affects us all. There’s no point nominating “the perfect conservative” if he’s going to lose on social issues. That’s why we didn’t elect Rick Santorum to run for president. It’s nice, and we all nod our heads as they tell us what we want to hear, but when all is said and done, every conservative from Florida to Alaska has to wake up in the morning to see Harry Reid spewing more BS from his position as Senate leader. Every conservative has to wake up to Obamacare still being law. We have a great opportunity to oust the senate liberals and this guy, Akin, is trashing it. What if Romney fails to overcome Obama’s voter fraud and media wing? Then we NEED to take the senate from him before any more damage is done by Obongo!

Akin was legally elected by the voters and nothing he did was illegal or immoral. As a matter of fact on radio program today 80% of the callers were vehement supporters of his gaffe and all.
McCaskill’s polling numbers are so bad it’s more than likely that anyone who replaces Akin will beat her in N ovember.
So then why are all the cats wailing out there that the GOP is going to lose the seat??? The GOP is just angry that he who is a dependable conservative and not someone more moderate and beholden to the elitists is going to win the seat.

The seat is what is important. At any other time, I might agree with you that “yeah, the libs stand by their own, We should too!”, but there has NEVER been a more important time. Obama is destroying this country and Clair McRatSkull is helping him. Now, maybe Akin can still win on the hyper-partisanship alone (as the latest polls indicate he isn’t falling behind), but is it worth the risk at this stage in the game? Sometimes, people have to take one for the team. I wish Akin hadn’t said this, but if he stays in, McCatSkull rises from the dead and may win. Is that a risk we can take knowing what is at stake?

Not the same. Both of the comments you gave were taken out of context. Romney was talking about firing insurance companies, and he was talking about focusing on the middle class because the poor have a safety net. There is NO WAY Akin’s comments could be taken out of context. He screwed up.
If your argument is simply based on being a sheep who follows what other people in the party say, then I can't help you. I'm concerned about other issues like what's right and wrong. But if you think Republicans are always right about everything they say and do, I just wonder how you explain why they lost the 2006 and 2008 elections.
